Yew Tree Nook is a charming and quirky cottage nestled in the beautiful Peak District, offering a peaceful retreat with a well-maintained garden and a hot tub. Guests appreciate its proximity to local hikes, amenities, and attractions like Alton Towers. The property's character and the responsive service from the owner are frequently commended.
The reviews present a mixed picture of cleanliness. While some guests found the property clean and well-equipped, others reported issues with mildew, musty smells, and unclean kitchenware. The responsiveness of the cleaning team to issues is noted, but the need for a deep clean and maintenance is evident.
The location is highly praised for its convenience to local hikes, amenities, and attractions such as Alton Towers and Buxton. The cottage's setting in nature provides a quiet and peaceful environment, which is a highlight for many guests.
Comfort levels are generally high, with guests enjoying the open plan living areas and comfortable beds. However, some guests found the pull-out beds and sofa bed uncomfortable, and there were comments about the property feeling damp, which affected the overall comfort experience.
Facilities like the hot tub, spacious kitchen, and large TV are appreciated, but there are reports of maintenance issues such as a broken dishwasher, non-working showers, and electrical problems. The hot tub maintenance and privacy are also points of concern for some guests.
While guests have mentioned thoughtful touches like a Christmas tree and prompt service, there is insufficient information about consistent thoughtful gestures such as gifts to accurately assess this category. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such thoughtfulness is a standard offering.

Idilic setting. Well stocked fishing pond. An awning over the hot tub for when it is raining would be great, this would have given our rating a 10. Thank you for the bottle of wine.

The owner/maintenance company were so helpful when we were at the wrong place and also kept the house very clean. Everything was easily accessible. Oven took a while to figure out but may have just been us!

The hot tub was great and the linens etc were all pristine and comfy. I will say that finding some of the light switches for the king bedroom was a challenge (some we never found), and I think a sign is needed outside the property thatâs visible from the road, as I struggled to find it. Despite that, the place is stunning and hopefully we will book again!
