About this property

This romantic mill has been converted to a wonderful, cosy place to escape to. The open-plan living space on the first floor provides stunning views over a pond and surrounding countryside. A charming place to escape to for a romantic getaway.

Much of the character of the mill has been retained during the conversion and there are beautiful brick floors downstairs and lots of woodwork throughout. The upper floor has glorious views over the surrounding countryside and mill pond, which is a haven for wildlife and you may even spot a Kingfisher if you're lucky. The spacious open-plan living space has a kitchen, dining and sitting area. The kitchen is well-equipped for whipping up breakfast or dinner for two, and the sitting area features a contemporary wood burning stove, filling the room with warmth and cosiness.

Down the oak and glass, central staircase is an open-plan bedroom suite featuring a dressing room with sitting area which opens through the archway into the spacious shower room and large, walk-in, rainfall shower. The generous bedroom boasts a super-king size bed and stable door leading directly out to the pond. The ground floor is warmed by luxurious underfloor heating.

There are plenty of beautiful walks immediately from the doorstep and beyond the immediate vicinity of the Mill pond, you are able to explore the rest of the estate of Belchamp Hall.

Had a cracking time staying at the old mill. We cycled out from Sudbury station along tiny lanes - no car needed! The mill was an atmospheric and beautiful place to stay. All the fittings etc were high quality and comfortable.

A very pleasant holiday cottage with lovely views and walks all around. We enjoyed our stay and were near family to enjoy the family celebration. A very peaceful place.

I booked this property as a surprise for my wife and we were not disappointed. It was a comfortable, quirky, high quality property, very well equipped and comfortable. The location was ideal for walking our dog Ripley and we especially enjoyed the walk to the Fox in Bulmer for a lovely lunch and beer from their own brewery. The clear sky's gave us the opportunity to see the ISS and Jupiter in the cold evenings and then back to the log burner to warm up. Nice touches like the dog bed, welcome pack and quality toiletries made our stay extra special. We will be back.
