The master bed was a little uncomfortable, but not a major down point in comparison to what this beautiful log cabin has to offer, it was enjoyed by all the family. We would definitely recommend and will return ourselves in the future.

When we arrived we found the place dirty and quite blatantly not having been cleaned before our arrival. The worst of all was the fact that we found hairs on the pillows which led us to believe that the bedding had not been changed, which is absoltely disgusting and inevitably did not induce a good night's sleep, thereby spoiling the next day of our holiday as we were so tired. The dust and hairs and fluff both on the floors, and the furniture and indeed the mattresses was terrible. The shower door was hanging off so water went all over the bathroom which was not clean anyway. The blinds in both bedrooms were broken. There were pet hairs all over the bench. A light grey armchair was absolutely filthy. When we opened the sofa out the crumbs and rubbish in that were beyond belief. The thermostat for the heating did not work. There were no instructions like you get in most holiday lets - like how to work things like the heating, where to put your rubbish, what to do with linen etc on your last day. We made a complaint to sykes and sent pictures of all our issues. A very nice lady (responsible for maintaining a few properties on the site) arrived with clean sheets for us which made our second night better which was a relief. She also offered to get the maintenance team to come and fix the blinds and for her to come and do a deep clean the next day while we were out 'without touching any of our stuff'. She was very nice but there is no way a deep clean could have been done without touching our stuff. When sykes sent me a message to ask if our issues had been resolved, I sent a long message covering all of the above issues, to which I received no reply. When I investigated why I had received no reply from sykes, there was no evidence of our conversation including all of the pictures I sent. I tried the chat link in the account but they were busy. So I just got on with the rest of my holiday, which as you can imagine was definitely spoiled because of all this. The next contact I get is sykes wanting a review. I'm sorry it's not a good one. I would not recommend it at all.

Contrary to reviews I had read we had no problem with the hot water /heating (new boiler been fitted). The bed was comfy slept well all week. There was a problem with the dishwasher we put it on on day 2 and all the power went out however the Parkdean staff were excellant and got the power back on (dont think its ideal plugging a dishwasher into sockets under the sink ).Apart from that we had a lovely stay and I would recommend it to family and friends the site has everything you need and its not far from Ambleside or Windermere. One more thing a non slip showermat was needed (I did buy one)
