Park Cottage in Matlock is highly praised for its comfort, cleanliness, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like welcome packs and festive decorations. The location is ideal for exploring the Peak District, with easy access to local amenities and attractions. The cosy wood burner and central heating are highlights, ensuring a warm stay. Some minor maintenance issues and suggestions for improvements are noted, but overall, guests express a desire to return and recommend the cottage to others.
Guests consistently describe the cottage as immaculately clean, with several reviews highlighting the high level of cleanliness. One mention of uncleaned baking trays suggests a slight deduction from a perfect score.
The cottage's location in Bonsall Village is frequently praised for its proximity to local pubs, cafes, and a park. Its central position for exploring the Lower Peaks is also appreciated. The mention of parking being a short distance away and steps to the cottage being partly broken slightly impacts the score.
Comfort is a strong point, with guests finding the beds extremely comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially with the wood burner. However, some guests found the double beds small, and there were comments about the lack of blinds in the kitchen, which affects the overall comfort score.
The cottage is well-equipped, with a particularly well-received kitchen. However, there are comments about the lack of certain kitchen items, a blocked shower drain, and confusion over waste disposal. These issues suggest room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
Guests often mention the thoughtful touches like welcome packs, Christmas decorations, and a basket of logs for the wood burner. While these are greatly appreciated, it is important to note that such personal touches may vary and are not guaranteed with every stay.

I felt so relaxed and it was refreshing to not be faced with a huge list of things the dogs couldnât do and also no tasks to complete before leaving. Had everything we needed, was spotlessly clean and loads of local info. Hope to visit again in the future.

Lovely facilities catered for all our needs, including our two dogs.Very steep steps at the side of the cottage up to the outdoor seating area may be a challenge for some, but thereâs plenty of other options for outdoor relaxing. Perfect location next to the park and central for all the walks. Fountain tea rooms just a minuteâs walk away (great breakfasts!) and The Barley Mow pub had the most amazing atmosphere - food also fab! We had a lovely time and thoroughly relaxed - just what we needed! Would definitely recommend
