Awaken to your Cornish itinerary, starting off with a hike through either Bissoe Valley Nature Reserve, or Kennall Vale Nature Reserve, offering the perfect area for wildlife spotting. Continue your travels towards the shoreline of Falmouth, where you can tour Penryn Museum, and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, explore the remains of Pendennis Castle, or lounge upon the sandy terrain of Swanpool Beach. Choose a well-positioned abode in Fern Cottage.

Originally, St. Day was named for the obscure Saint Day or Dye (better known in Brittany). The community now features a pub, a convenience shop, and a granite church built in the gothic style in 1828. The well-known village of Portreath, which draws tourists from all over the world with its untamed and rugged coastline, is only six miles away. The region is characterised by high cliffs, isolated coves, and sandy, surf-washed beaches, and all around are remnants of the area's historic industrial background. In addition to its secure, protected sandy beach, Portreath has a small fishing harbour, stores, a few pubs, three cafés, and a Chinese takeaway. Visit Truro, a 7-mile drive away cathedral city with cobblestone streets, a shopping mall, a theatre, a museum, and fantastic restaurants, for a fun day out, or drive a few miles along the coast to Gwithian and follow the long stretch of sandy coastline that descends to Hayle and continues on to St Ives. a wonderful vacation spot.

Everything was very clean and tidy, and the cottage had everything we needed during our stay. We arrived to delicious home made scones with jam and cream, plus a couple of pints of milk to get us started. Briefly met the owner and her lovely dog who seemed very nice. We found the bed a little soft to our taste, but other than that we loved it!

The location was perfect to us to visit our favourite places. Some of which are Porthtowan Beach, St Agnes, Truro and Falmouth. Lovely to come back to the cottage each evening, we just wish the weather was a bit warmer to make use of the lovely patio area and BBQ to the rear of the cottage.
