Two issues - car charger wasn’t working and the “basket” of logs was 3 logs. I phoned Coast and Country Cottages who manage the property on the Monday morning and was told they’d call me back. They didn’t bother. They also didn’t reply to email. A good property let down by poor management.

Although superficially of good quality, the experience of staying there showed it to be less so. On arrival we found that the sleeping arrangements had not been set up as had been requested. The patio furniture was particularly filthy with dust, cobwebs and green mould. The hot tub, far from being ready to use, was filthy with slugs, snails, dirty water and other muck inside. And only six logs to eventually heat the water, with a note that further supplies could be purchased at a local garden centre. The hot tub, unexpectedly, had no water jets. We had specifically chosen this property because of its hot tub, to provide much needed back relief following surgery. We set about cleaning these items, only to find there were no cleaning materials available in the property, and notices that only specialised cleaning materials were to be used. No surface cleaner, no washing powder, no dishwasher tablets, no washing up liquid and only one small wiping cloth. We later found the oven and some cooking utensils to be dirty (and nothing supplied to clean them with). We were blessed with sunny weather, but no shade or umbrella available for the patio, and only soft seating for two or three: inadequate if there had been more staying. We did complain twice to the local agent, who promised to respond, but by the time we left two days later, we had had no response. The information in the house notes was incorrect in parts, showing lack of attention to detail. There were minor items, such as a broken drawer and the feature clock not working, which again showed a lack of attention to detail by the cleaners and/or the local agent. Overall, this property and the service provided to customers was not up to the standard expected of a premium price product. We expect an appropriate refund in due course.

We had a lovely stay Didn’t get to use the hot tub as it was too cold lol But if we stayed there again in the summer, we would definitely be in there.
