Guests say

Thornhills Lodge receives high praise for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and well-maintained facilities, including a hot tub. The location is appreciated for its tranquillity, though not within walking distance of attractions. The owners are commended for their helpfulness and the property for its privacy and beautiful surroundings.

Reviewers consistently mention high levels of cleanliness, describing the property as well-equipped and well-maintained, contributing to a homely feel.

The lodge is noted for its peaceful setting, with lovely walks nearby. However, it is not ideal for those seeking attractions within walking distance, requiring a car for visits to nearby towns.

Guests find the lodge cosy and relaxing, with a private hot tub adding to the comfort. One mention of excessive heat suggests room for improvement in temperature management.

Facilities like the hot tub and kitchen are well-received, though there are minor maintenance issues such as a loose toilet seat. The addition of a pizza van is a unique touch.

While the reviews reflect the owners' helpfulness and the property's thoughtful touches, there is no specific mention of gifts, so it is not possible to score this category.

You have a beautifully furnished shepherd's hut with everything you would possibly need. The park in general is well maintained and spotlessly clean. The surroundings are well cared for and thought as been put into the planting. We enjoyed our evenings in the hot tub ,we saw a young deer that came up to the fence briefly until it saw us. We watched dragonflies dancing over the corn field ,bats flying over at dusk. And enjoyed watching the moon rise all from the Woodford hot tub ,what more could you want? We will definitely be back at some point ,as still lots to explore within a few miles away.

The toilet room was quiet small with a small basin which made it difficult to wash face and hands but the shower was a very good size and plenty of hot water. The toilet seat was loose and needed tightening. Overall we had a very lovely weekend. Thank you to the owners.

The hot tub was one of the best things about the stay. The shepherds hut was very private which we also loved. The only thing I would say is during our stay the weather was very hot and the bedroom was 30+ degrees at night. It would’ve been better for when we do have the hot weather if their was a fan to cool us done. Other than that, thank you for such a wonderful stay. Will highly recommend.
