Pied a Mer in Aldeburgh is highly praised for its central yet private location, cleanliness, and comfort. Guests appreciate the modern amenities, the thoughtful touches like milk and biscuits, and the provision of beach equipment. While parking can be a minor inconvenience, the property's charm and quality consistently win over visitors, many of whom are repeat guests.
Reviewers consistently mention the property's cleanliness, noting it as extremely clean and well-maintained, which suggests a very high standard of hygiene.
The property's location is frequently highlighted as perfect and central, ideal for accessing the beach, shops, and local amenities, although parking is noted as a minor issue.
Guests find the apartment very comfortable, with specific mentions of a comfy bed, good shower, and effective heating, indicating a high level of comfort provided.
Facilities are generally praised, especially the modern touches and cleanliness. However, there are some concerns about the washing machine not being a washer-dryer as advertised and the front door lock needing attention.
The provision of items like deck chairs, a windbreak, milk, and biscuits are well-received, showing thoughtfulness by the owners. However, it should be noted that such extras are a kind gesture and may not be guaranteed for every stay.
This 1st first floor self-catering Aldeburgh holiday let is situated just off the High Street on Crabbe Street, very close to the beach and the owners have thoughtfully provided deck chairs so you can treat the nearby beach as your adopted garden. There's an open plan kitchen/living room, a bedroom (king size) and a bathroom, just the perfect size for two by the seaside.
The front door leads to a small hallway and stairs up to the first-floor open plan kitchen/living room.
Kitchen/Living Room
The living area has a three-seater sofa, a large coffee table, a TV with FreeSat channels, and a DVD player. But best of all is that view that we've already mentioned, it's a colourful medley of partial sea views, fishermen's boats, red brick buildings, rooftops, historic buildings, and shops. You can even see whether there's a queue to buy freshly caught fish from the black painted fisherman's hut on the beach.
The kitchen area has a granite worktop incorporating a breakfast-bar style dining area, with two high bar chairs and a wooden floor. Appliances include an electric hob and oven, a slimline dishwasher, a microwave, a fridge with a freezer compartment, and a washing machine.
Bedroom
There's a hotel quality Vi-Spring super king bed with White Company bedding including goose down pillows and duvet. There are bedside tables, a chest of drawers, a large built-in wardrobe and cream carpet. A large window looks out across the High Street.
Bathroom
There's a bath with a shower over it, a hand basin, a w.c. and a heated towel rail.
Outside
On-road parking can often be found in nearby side streets. Access to the beach is across the road on the other side of the pay and display car park.
The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain. Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town. The beach is a popular place for groups and couples to enjoy the wonderful fish and chips throughout the summer months. The town is steeped in history and has become a wonderful town for shopping with a good mixture of independent and chain stores to enjoy. The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants or why not buy some freshly caught fish from the huts on the seafront and cook up your own feast at home. For those wishing for a more action-packed holiday there is excellent walking, cycling, sailing and golf at Aldeburgh. Growing in popularity you will want to return to Aldeburgh again and again!

Accommodation was excellent but in the shower/bath it would be useful to have a âgrab railâ as there are only the edge of the bath and the door handle to hold onto when getting out. Very much enjoyed our stay - especially watching the team triathlon on the Sunday!
Lyn
Beautifully maintained, clean and provided everything needed as well as a few extras which were much appreciated. Location was brilliant for the town and beach area. Would definitely stay again

Although I was able to open and lock the door my wife was unable to turn the key herself.
