Guests have enjoyed stays at Robert Sadler's Studio, praising its peaceful garden, comfortable furnishings, and proximity to the beach. The unique charm and cultural ambience of the property, along with its well-equipped kitchen, contribute to a homely experience. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.
The property generally appears clean and tidy with fresh linen and towels. However, some guests mentioned cobwebs, dust, and a need for a deeper clean, suggesting room for improvement in this area.
The studio's location is highly praised for its quiet setting, central location, and easy access to the beach and high street, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and exploration.
The property is described as comfortable, with cosy furnishings and a welcoming atmosphere. Some guests found the beds very comfortable, although there were comments about a short double bed and an uncomfortable single mattress.
The studio is well-equipped with kitchen utensils and a welcome pack. Guests enjoyed the garden and balcony, but there are recurring mentions of stiff shower controls, a temperamental TV, and other minor maintenance issues that need addressing.
Guests appreciated the welcome pack, which included treats for both humans and dogs, indicating a thoughtful touch by the owners. However, it's important to note that such gifts may vary and are not guaranteed with every stay.

The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain. Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town. The beach is a popular place for groups and couples to enjoy the wonderful fish and chips throughout the summer months. The town is steeped in history and has become a wonderful town for shopping with a good mixture of independent and chain stores to enjoy. The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants or why not buy some freshly caught fish from the huts on the seafront and cook up your own feast at home. The house is in an excellent location. The garden was perfect for our two dogs, and for dining outside in the warm weather. The adjoining twin room worked perfectly for our children. The kitchen had everything we needed. Off-road parking was a rare treat and much appreciated. Very close to the bakery on the high street - perfect for early morning pastry runs! The guidebook has everything we needed to know about the house, the local area and the artist, Robert Sadler - we very much enjoyed the many paintings throughout the home of his. I would just emphasise that the double bed upstairs is within the lounge area - there is no clear separation other than a temporary screen if set up - if staying with a group of friends, this might be something to consider, but for our family, this worked fine.

We love Aldeburgh and the property itself and so do our two large dogs. It is a âhome from homeâ.

We really enjoyed being surrounded by Robert Sadlers beautiful paintings and sculptures and thought the top floor was an especially lovely and special space. Unlike a previous, frankly bemusing post, we felt the owners have done an excellent job of maintaining the history and integrity of the studio while making this a comfortable and well laid out holiday home. We loved the upstairs bed, it felt very special to sleep up there, and were not thrown by a seaside themed tablecloth or slightly squeaky step. The balcony is a wonderful place to enjoy a morning coffee and the garden is really lovely. Our dogs especially loved it and I really appreciated the mix of naturalistic planting to encourage insects and wildlife with the more manicured sections. The gardeners came while we were there and did an exemplary job of tidying the space and it is clearly well maintained. I was not bothered by the small TV either as I came away to visit the beautiful local area and to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of this property. We enjoyed exploring the town and ate out at several local restaurants, cafes and pubs. We have to give a special recommendation for the afternoon tea at The Chocolate Teapot which was delicious and amazing value, plus the staff were so friendly and accommodated our two large dogs without any fuss. We also enjoyed visits to some of the dog friendly beaches, walks in beautiful nature reserves, two English heritage castles and the stunning gardens at Helmingham Hall, so there were plenty of nearby low-key relaxed activities to give us the chance to recharge our batteries. Sadly, the Red House isn't dog-friendly so we couldn't visit, which was my only disappointment of the week. The only thing I would change would be that shower in the upstairs bathroom and I note it has been mentioned in several reviews before. It requires Herculean strength to turn it off. I could only do it using a towel and both hands for extra leverage, however this means the design of the shower means you get covered in icy cold water and/or cover the bathroom floor in water too. Other than that, this is the loveliest dog friendly property in a really good location for access to the high street and beach while offering something much more special than the other more generic properties available in Aldeburgh.
