This pretty, renovated cottage is situated on a quiet lane backing onto ancient woodland. There are fabulous sea and mountain views reaching out over Red Wharf Bay. This beautiful retreat is only a short walk from Benllech town centre, and the stunning Benllech beach, which is ideal for families. The Anglesey coastal path can also be accessed from here for stunning walks. The well-equipped kitchen is designed in a heart-warming fashion with contemporary units and black countertops. The lounge has a beautiful open fire and comfortable sofas, which set you up for a cosy night in. This leads on to a dining area, which seats up to six people, a chance for everyone to come together and relax in comfort. Outstanding views can be seen from most rooms in the property, and tasteful slate floors with underfloor heating give the property a true bespoke edge. Three bedrooms are accessed via an oak stairway and landing; two doubles are neutrally styled with a country-cottage feel, and views towards the magnificent sea front, which you can wake up to every day. There is also a comfortable bunk room in cool blue and white tones looking out over woodland. Finally, the large, contemporary family bathroom includes both a freestanding bath and a walk-in shower, to match your preferences. Outside is beautifully landscaped, with a large terrace ideal for relaxing and eating whilst overlooking the views. The garden is fully enclosed.The outbuilding houses laundry facilities as well as providing lockable storage for bikes and other outdoor equipment. A variety of shops and cafes front the beach at Benllech, with a picnic area to the side, whilst the town centre offers more shops, pubs, hotels and restaurants. The location has something to suit every taste, making this destination more than impressive for family holidays. The rural surroundings bring peace and quiet, with easy access to the coast, Anglesey and of course the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia. Bryn Uchaf is the place to stay all-year-round.

The kitchen needs a good clean including the oven, half of the plates were chipped, our duvet cover had a rip in it and it said the garden was dog proof. Our dog did escape over the back into the woodland. Also I would recommend a blind in the kitchen, bathroom and hall. Could be a four star, but needs a bit of TLC. We were lucky with weather though and had a good stay.

It is a well located cottage in a quiet area with lovely views over the bay. An issue with the back door failing to lock on our first day was dealt with to our satisfaction by the owners, attended early the following morning to sort out the problem with the help of a locksmith. However, initial dealings with the management company were less helpful and left us quite stressed and upset (it was clear they were well aware of the faulty lock but hadnât dealt with it or let us know not to use the door. We were later informed by text message that they couldnât find anyone to fix the lock (unsurprising as it was Good Friday), after which the manager simply stopped answering our calls). One star dropped as the cottage was poorly equipped compared to other cottages we have stayed in - only one toilet roll provided, no washing up liquid, an empty hand-wash bottle in the bathroom that should have been refilled or replaced, no spare bin liners provided (despite specific heavy duty bags being needed as the bins are emptied by hand by a private company due to the cottageâs location) and nowhere to leave rubbish as the bin was overflowing from previous residents. However, we did appreciate the Prosecco and Welsh cakes. We would stay again and would recommend the property to others, but being mindful of the need to bring all supplies with you or being prepared to pop to the shops on the first night.

The cottage was what we expected as it was a dog friendly cottage. Benllech is a lovely area to holiday in, the dogs loved the beach but the trek back up was hard and not for the unfit. We wouldn't hesitate to book Bryn Uchaf again and hope to be back next year. Thank you for a lovely stay and thank you for the welcome pack, very much appreciated.
