Hanover Manse is a well-received cottage, praised for its spaciousness, warm atmosphere, and well-equipped kitchen. The property's large garden and views are appreciated, as is the friendly welcome by the hosts. Some guests noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance, but these are outweighed by the positive experiences of comfort and location.
Most guests found the cottage clean and comfortable, but a few raised concerns about specific cleanliness issues such as sticky floors and an unpleasant smell upon arrival. These seem to be isolated incidents rather than the norm.
The location is frequently described as quiet and peaceful, with stunning views and convenient access to local amenities and natural attractions. The presence of a graveyard nearby was unsettling for some but did not detract significantly from the overall positive reception of the location.
Guests consistently mention the comfort of the beds and the warmth of the house. Some guests with mobility issues noted the lack of a downstairs toilet and difficulty with stairs, but overall, the property is seen as comfortable.
The property is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and guests appreciate the secure parking and garden. However, there are mentions of maintenance issues such as a lack of hot water downstairs and the need for better upkeep, which affects the score.
Several reviews mention a warm welcome and thoughtful touches, including a welcome pack and festive decorations. While these gifts are highly appreciated, it should be noted that such personal touches are at the discretion of the hosts and may not be a consistent feature.

The accommodation is even better in real life than the photographs - and they are already great! Very quiet place with your own private garden area and 3 large bedrooms (2 Double - 1 twin) Also 3 bathrooms in total, counting the 2 en-suites. If you get a chance to see inside the adjacent church, you'll be pleased you did. The area is lovely. Abergavenny, Raglan, Usk, Monmouth, Pontypool and Blaenavon (Big Pit) are an easy drive away. Simmonds Yat and Ross-On-Wye are just under an hour. The accom has had a lot of attention to detail, with a welcome pack and everything you need for a comfortable stay> The owners daughter lives next door and does her best to make sure everything is good for you. Country walks right outside your doorstep, it really is lush!

It had everything you could possibly need & more. It was beautifully decorated for us for Christmas & they left a lovely Christmassy welcome pack. If we had any complaints, it was that the weather was too warm & we couldn't light the beautiful log burner, but we certainly can't blame the owner for that

We were a bridal party of 6 & there was plenty of room. Perfect location for the wedding venue (Sant Ffreadd house - 10 mins away through the lanes). Loads of room for makeup & hair to be done on the Saturday morning. Parking area large enough for 5 or 6 cars & the photographer's van. Bride & groom stayed in the cottage after the wedding & found it very comfortable, warm & cosy. Thank you to Rhiannon for the card & Prosecco for the newly weds.
