Panteurig Cottage is a charming property in a stunning, peaceful location with beautiful walks nearby. Guests appreciate the tasteful decoration, well-equipped space, and the warm welcome from the owner, often highlighted by a delightful welcome gift. While some guests have concerns about noise and privacy due to thin walls, the overall experience is seen as positive with many looking forward to returning.
Reviews indicate a mix of experiences regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the cottage to be spotless with personal touches, while others noted issues with dust, cobwebs, and pests. The owner's responsiveness to cleanliness concerns is noted.
The cottage's location is highly praised for its beauty and tranquillity. It is described as a remote retreat with lovely local walks, close to beaches and ideal for exploring West Wales.
Comfort receives mixed feedback. Guests enjoy the underfloor heating and cosy atmosphere, but some report issues with noise from adjoining properties and a lack of privacy. Bedding cleanliness and quality of sleep were concerns for some.
Facilities are generally seen as adequate but several reviews suggest the need for maintenance and updates. Suggestions include better sound insulation, fire safety improvements, and additional amenities like storage and a clothes horse.
The owner's thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with guests appreciating the welcome gifts. However, it's important to note that such gestures, while common, are not guaranteed for every stay.
Just a mile from Strumble Head and close to Pwllderi, this is one of the most beautiful and dramatic stretches of the Pembrokeshire coastline. This delightful cottage makes a perfect holiday base for two (plus one child) in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. A bridleway/footpath leads you directly to the coastal path and there are lots of beaches and coves along this stretch of the coastline. At various times of the year you can spot seal pups from the cliffs on the coves below or migrating birds. It’s a great place for ornithologists and dolphin spotting and even if you don’t spot anything it’s a splendid place to be.
St Davids, Solva, Newgale, Newport, Porthgain, Abereiddy and Whitesands are all within a half hour drive of the cottage. The nearest towns are Goodwick and Fishguard, each with a good selection of individual shops, galleries and eateries.
Goodwick is a picturesque coastal village overlooking the bay where the twice daily ferries run to Ireland. With a variety of shops, cafes, pubs and a small supermarket, it offers everything you need. The twin town of Fishguard is only two miles away, where you will find more unique shops, a delicatessen, pubs, restaurants and the Last Invasion Tapestry, which is based on the famous Welsh ladies' victory over the French and has been compared to the Bayeux Tapestry. Located in such a great coastal position, the Pembrokeshire and Cardiganshire section of the world-famous Welsh coastal path is right on your doorstep, so enjoy the scenic walks, outstandingly beautiful beaches, the opportunity to watch dolphins and seals and so much more! From lazy, warm summer days to wild and windy winter days, the scenery is ever-changing and always remarkable. Historic castles, theme parks, art galleries, kayaking, coasteering and boat trips to the islands are all nearby and St. Davids, the smallest city in the UK, with its magnificent cathedral is a short drive away, while the coastal town of Newport, with its fantastic beach, is closer still. A perfect location all year round.

The host was fabulous and communication brilliant. The reason I canât give it 5 stars is the cottage is divided in two with interconnecting doors up and downstairs, so when the guests arrived next door you could hear every word and it was like sharing your space intimately with another family. So that removed the element of peace and relaxation away from the rest of our stayâ¦
