Guests say

Guests appreciate the holiday rental's prime location in Conwy, with its proximity to local attractions and suitability for dog owners. The apartment is generally praised for its cleanliness and well-equipped nature, though some guests have noted maintenance issues and a need for better upkeep. The property offers a comfortable stay, but attention to detail in addressing reported concerns could enhance the experience.

The property is often described as clean and tidy, with several guests highlighting its spotless condition upon arrival. However, there are mentions of a persistent pet odour, cobwebs, and marks on walls, suggesting room for improvement in deep cleaning and maintenance.

The apartment's location is highly praised for being close to Conwy's town centre, castle, and quay, with easy access to walks and amenities. Its convenience for both dog owners and general tourists is a recurring positive theme.

Guests find the apartment comfortable, with a good shower and comfortable bedding. However, some have noted issues with damp bedding and a lack of space for larger groups, indicating that while generally comfortable, the experience varies.

The apartment is well-equipped, with a good shower and WiFi, but there are several reports of maintenance issues such as a broken bathroom fan, cracked shower tray, and garden upkeep. These issues suggest that the facilities are adequate but require better maintenance.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. As such, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is without doubt world famous for its historical and architectural heritage, yet at the heart of the town lies a hub of bustling activity. Alongside its ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals, galleries and historical attractions, there is an array of specialist shops, restaurants and hotels. Built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, Master James of St George's design, Conwy Castle remains one of the most outstanding achievements of medieval military architecture. The distinctive, elongated shape, with its two barbicans, eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall was perhaps determined by the narrow rocky outcrop on which the castle stands. The town is proud of its historic traditions and celebrates its past by retaining many of these in its annual festivals, events and fairs, including the Honey fair, Seed fair and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October, along with other musical events throughout the year. Conwy is the perfect base for exploring the dramatic Snowdonia National Park, walking unspoilt sandy beaches, or taking in the wonderful scenery on your doorstep. Also within reach are the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which has the longest zip wire in Europe, and Surf Snowdonia is just six miles away.

The bedding and towels were great, bed comfortable but the overpowering stench of dog was truly dreadful. I even bought febreze to use on the sofa and carpets, to no avail. Someone had clearly allowed their dog access to the sofa and bedroom. It desperately needs a paint job, with marks everywhere and stains on the wall in the bedroom and on the ceiling and walls in the lounge presumably from the flat above. There were cobwebs everywhere. The bathroom fan wasn’t working and the shower tray was cracked, causing a dangerous sag in the centre. The bins outside on the drive were overflowing when we arrived. During the week we saw various people around, who in fact were maintenance for the owners. We learned that they were aware of all the issues and we were told they were going to be dealt with when the apartment was not booked. The dreadful smell was mentioned by the previous review, so they clearly know about that too. In the meantime people are clearly expected to put up with it. It’s a great shame, as the apartment should, and could, be lovely. It’s a great shame that people are booking and paying in good faith and also that notices in the property regarding the rules about pets are not adhered to!!

During our stay this year, again we had an internet loss for a whole evening & into next morning which causes the tv not to work too. The doggy urine smell in the main room was very intense, I bought air fresheners, candles etc to try & eliminate it but to no avail. The bedding was damp & stained so very uncomfortable to use, in general the place was dusty & lots of spiders on the walls & ceilings & also marks on the walls. When we first arrived the garden was very untidy although after a few days someone came to do the weeding but the garden furniture was filthy, so totally unusable which is such a shame as we had beautiful weather. Such a lovely quiet location but very disappointed with the presentation of the property this time.
