What our customers say about their holidays

Excellent cottage.
Brilliant hostess, thankyou for the goodies. Parked outside on street fine. Very clean and tidy. Had lots of kitchen items so you can easily make meals or eat out locally in an abundance of nearby eateries. Super impressed to find washing up liquid, hand washes, soaps, tea towels, dish cloths, plenty of toilet roll, toiletries, hairdryer, washing line. We made very good use of the brolly and clothes maid which we definitely needed the super wet week we had. Some hooks to hang up to dry our wet coats would be good maybe over the kitchen radiator, it'd be useful for dry coats too. We'd love to come back again and revisit some attractions as well as try some new ones we couldn't fit into our week at Mill Cottage. It's an excellent location a very short walk to the shops, play area and river.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Mill Cottage.
It's very clean and comfortable, and very well-equipped. We were very grateful as well for the collection of goodies left by the owner; we always bring basics like tea and milk, as we've been stranded before, but the chocolates and wine exceeded our expectations! Wolsingham is a beautiful village, and there are some terrific walks in the neighbourhood. Not all the amenities (such as the pub) were open because of the partial lifting of the COVID regulations; but there is a very well-stocked local shop,an independent bakery and an excellent Italian restaurant, 'Buon Appetito', only two doors down from the cottage, where we were able to eat at an outside terrace. All in all, this was a great venue for our first post-lockdown holiday, and I would definitely stay there again.

A lovely welcome from Julie who showed us around the cottage and told us about local places to visit and eat.
The cottage is beautiful; itâs spotlessly clean and has absolutely everything you could possibly need. Itâs tastefully decorated and the beds and sofas are SO comfortable! There was a welcome basket containing wine, chocolates, coffee, tea and biscuits with milk in the fridge...a very generous and special touch. The village is lovely. The cottage is in walking distance of the shops, cafe etc and everyone is so friendly. Itâs also very central for visiting other places in the area too. We had a lovely walk down by the river, had a meal at the local Italian restaurant and enjoyed numerous cappuccinos at the cafe along with a little trip on the Weardale railways! Would definitely recommend this cottage; weâd definitely like to go back!

Many thanks to Julie for sharing her delightful holiday cottage.
The cottage has been beautifully and tastefully renovated, and the furnishings and amenities make for a very enjoyable stay. The generous welcome basket, quality linens, towels and toiletries add an extra special touch. The beds in the cottage are the most comfortable we have ever come across in a holiday let. We loved having breakfast in the sunny and colourful courtyard garden. The village of Wolsingham has superb walks from the doorstep with good small shops and various pubs and restaurants. We especially enjoyed the ale and company at the Black Lion. It is a great spot for trips into the dale and for going a bit further to Durham or Newcastle. Highly recommended.

Mill cottage was even better than we expected.
Lovely cosy cottage with quality oak furniture, comfy sofas, excellent shower/ bath facilities with high quality towels and lots of extra soaps, shampoos and bath soak. All very welcome and felt like being in a hotel! Nice little outside area which was something of a sun trap and we spent as much time as possible out there enjoying a cup of tea or something stronger. Very well equipped kitchen which was important as the local pubs were not providing meals because of the Covid 19 situation so we cooked our own meals in the main. The location was perfect and we enjoyed a number of walks directly from the house. Would love to return in the future.
