What our customers say about their holidays

An absolutely fantastic place to stay.
John and Kathleen made us very welcome form the moment we arrived. The scenic views from the house are beautiful. Nestled in a valley at the eastern point of Lower Lough McNean, the house is a stones throw form the lake and is surrounded by the most wonderful hills and countryside on both sides. Only 15 minutesâ drive from Enniskillen and access to all the shops you will need. The house was extremely well equipped and our hosts even left us starter supplies to get us settled in, you donât get that sort of touch in the more commercial lets. The house has four main bedrooms three bathrooms. There is a wet room on the ground floor which is a god send if you have anyone with a disability or more frail individuals joining you. We had two children with disabilities, one with autism and one visually impaired and the wet room suited their needs perfectly. A good size reception room, lovely large kitchen with all the appliances you need and a great sitting area at the rear of the house. The house is on a working farm but it doesnât impact on your stay and the children with us loved seeing the young calves in the surrounding fields. We took two small boats with us to fish on the lake and John the host gave us access to the shore to launch them. For any fishing enthusiasts among your company the lake has a great stock of pike, bream, roach an perch. You may be lucky enough to land a nice brown trout. For walkers and hikers, you will be spoilt for choice, Cuilcagh mountain and the famous âStairway to Heavenâ is a must do. Cladagh Glen, Marble Arch Caves, Florence Court House, Castle Crom, and Pollnagollum Cave, which was used in filming for the popular television series, Game of Thrones are all nearby. Enniskillen has a host of attractions and you are an hour or so from the coast, Sligo, Donegal etc. If you get bored in this beautiful area, you are tired of life. We had a wonderful week thanks to John and Kathleen and the only regret was not booking it for longer. We were all so impressed that we will book it again for the same week next year. Canât wait to go back

Very disappointed in this house.
As an estate agent once said to me, "You don't get two chances to make a first impression. " Your very first photograph is misleading. Rather than a bright sparkling house with lots of colourful baskets and boxes you see a sad shabby house with no colour whatsoever. Round the back is the same. The windows were filthy, the small patch of grass looked like it had not been cut in many months, though this was rectified on the Monday. The garden furniture is old, rusty and dirty. (It looks bad in your picture but much worse now.) These observations were made before we even got out of the car. Inside there was much of the same. A main light bulb was missing, the TV in the living area did not work, a toilet seat was cracked. Cleanliness was good though again a lot of paintwork and dampness damage needs attention. One particular point was very annoying. Where you show in the pictures and in the script that there are two large double beds, the larger room, and far the nicest part of the house, now has two single beds. This means that that room was unusable for us. There are more matters I could point out but this quite enough. Needless to say we will not be going near this place again, and suggest that Sykes do some vetting of the places they manage. We wish we could have had a much better experience, but unfortunately we were misled. Michael Healy and Jean Duncan

It is in a good location, a very scenic area of Northern Ireland.
It is quite large with very high ceilings. That caused a few problems for my wife who has a hearing problem. It had a very well equipped kitchen area, everything that was needed was there. However the kettle dribbled when pouring the boiling water. A replacement would be helpful. The only issue was the twin sinks, they were very deep. An upgrade would really improve things. The instructions for the controls of the heating were a bit confusing and took a bit of getting used to. The heating times were not visible on the controller. The heating for the living/kitchen area was on each morning but that for the bedroom zone was not. Even with the high ceiling the living area was usually nice and warm. We only lit the woodburner a couple of times as we felt it was not necessary. Unfortunately the seating was not great, quite low and not that comfortable. The bathroom of the end bedroom could do with an upgrade as things are getting a bit tired, every thing worked properly the decor, etc, just needs some attention. I am very familiar with the area but I found the directions to the property hard to follow, this was quickly resolved when I spoke to Lucinda on the phone. They need to be re-written. It has a lot of potential if it could be upgraded a bit. It is situated in a lovely area and there are some nice eateries not far away.

The Derrins FarmHouse in Fermanagh is a fantastic holiday home.
The location is perfect, situated at the end of a private lane offering the rural farm setting, whilst also being nearby to a busy town of Enniskillen. John and Kathleen are superb hosts, they were on hand once we arrived to provide a quick tour and a how to guide on the house and itâs amenities. The house is situated on a working farm but John and Kathleen never encroached on our stay and went above and beyond helping with anything thatâs needed. The house is massive, with a separate entrance offering disability access and shower room. It has stunning views and a beautiful lake in the back garden that. The old Trainline makes for an ideal walk on a nice straight flat surface. The house is equipped with all everything you need. Located nearby you have the award-winning MacNean bistro and serval pubs and restaurants. For the more active you have the Florence court caves and Stairway to heaven Cuillagh walk. I couldnât recommend this property enough and itâs certainly one weâll be returning to in the future. Thanks again John and Kathleen.

This is by far the best accommodation we have stayed in.
Extremely welcoming hosts. Amazing welcome pack of such lovely food. The views from within the house and grounds are stunning- beautiful mountains and lough, with access to the lough. So peaceful and relaxing. Lovely to see the cows on the farm. Despite the house being on the edge of a farm , the grounds are so clean all around and very quiet. We all loved it and our dog too. The house has everything you could need and is very spacious . Has excellent access for those with mobility issues/require a wheel chair with a further very well built entrance, downstairs bedroom and wet room. There is access from this to the huge kitchen, hall and living room all big enough for a wheelchair.10 mins drive from Enniskillen. So much to do to suit all within the local area without having to travel far. Can not recommend this Farmhouse or the hosts highly enough. We will be back !
