What our customers say about their holidays

Had a great stay in this excellent cottage.
..It's quite rare for something to live up to expectations and more...it's simply delightful and has everything you need for a comfortable stay...I loved the bespoke furniture...Bed was large and comfortable on the firmer side which I prefer.. We went in April and had lovely weather ..The cottage was a little warm at times, so in the hot summer months, I would recommend a fan of some sort as I think it would be too hot in there. For winter there were two hot water bottles that could be used as well as extra blankets... Loved the shower with plenty of hot water and complimentary hotel type toiletries were left and a shower cap... Kitchen was very compact and wouldn't want to cook a big meal in there ..but it was fully equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge and a freezer in the carport plus all sorts of utensils, toaster, kettle etc so perfectly adequate and everything you need really ...Complimentary tea and coffee were left, plus the most delicious dark chocolate biscuits I have ever tasted! Also there is two dog bowls and some doggy treats left for your furry friend, plus a dog washing area in the carport too...The decking area leading from the living area was delightful and we enjoyed having our breakfast looking out to the wonderful countryside listening to the morning chatter of the birds singing....Even though this cottage is very rural...it's in an ideal location to go exploring to such places as st Abbs, Eyemouth The village of Duns has a lovely feel to it and is very close by for your local amenities... Northumberland border is not too far away , Edinburgh is only about an hour's drive ...plus all the lovely walks on your doorstep...All in all this place is perfect for a peaceful gateway in comfortable, beautiful surroundings and would highly recommend anyone to stay here ...Thank you so much!

We have just had a week at Seascape and it was a fantastic place to base our break in the area.
Despite initial concerns from other feedback it was very easy to find. There is a good parking space outside. The views across the Forth from the property are stunning. We certainly lucked out with the weather last week and were able to sit out on a few evenings after arriving back from our days out. The adjacent pub is quiet and worth visiting for a decent meal. You can hear the trains go by but soon get used to it. The nearby station has direct trains to Edinburgh (via the Forth Bridge), Dundee (via the Tay Bridge) and Perth as well as other local destinations so no need to use the car all the time. Inside, the property is clean and well equipped. The kitchen is modern with a cooker, microwave and dishwasher. The sofa and chairs are comfy and there is a smart TV with Netflix etc.. There is a washing machine in the 2nd bedroom which I guess was the only available space for it. The bathroom has a very good hot shower. The heating was fine when the evenings got cold. All in all a great place to stay in a nice village and would highly recommend it.

PERFECT I have just returned from a fortnight at Shore View (although I had booked the property for a fortnight to get some work done I intend to return at some point this year for a holiday).
The cottage was modern, warm, clean and very comfortable. The wi-fi connection was solid (I worked from here, including zoom meetings, all with no problems). What is brilliant about the cottage (apart from the obvious sea views) is how near EVERYTHING is, my car was hardly used the two weeks I was there. The beach is a short stroll down the street, the train station is across the road (45 minute direct train into centre of Edinburgh if you want to throw in a city break to your beach holiday) there is a restaurant and a pub (with outdoor seating area looking out to the sea) right next door (so no worrying who can't drink and has to do the driving) â have a meal, a drink watch the footie then just cross the path and your home. There is a corner shop at the other side of the cottages and a few yards further down the street a well stocked co-op shop. The cottage sits just behind the Fife Coastal Path, which is a well marked and busy path, that goes for miles along the coast. It really is a perfect little holiday spot!

This is the most beautiful cozy cottage and we loved staying there.
It is rather remote and takes about 30-50 minutes to visit the coast. Duns town centre is very quiet and when we went on Saturday afternoon about 3pm, it was like a ghost town and most of the shops were closed. Not many pubs or restaurants in the area to visit but we did find the Craw inn about a 20 minute drive away which was highly recommended, so we were very secluded but it is a lovely place to stay if you just want to walk around the forest and chill. Perfect place for relaxing. Cottage has all the general facilities that you would need, the kitchen sink is not in a great positioned for someone small like me but I understand this due to the tiny layout. Just needs some usable kitchen scissors and bin bags lol. My hubby was a bit perturbed that we needed to buy extra logs for the fire as the last time we stayed they were all provided, but overall I would definitely recommend for 3-4 days for a quietly cosy restful time and be prepared to drive a lot if you want to visit the coast, Edinburgh or Northumberland.

What an exceptional cottage!
We were blown away by both the property and the location, stunning view from the lounge window. Everything you could need for a stay in a cottage is provided. Paul, the owner was there when we arrived, really nice guy who is at the end of the phone if you need to know anything. Harbour view bar close by but not a sound could be heard, even during the Bank Holiday. Great Chinese take away two minutes walk. Train Station five minutes walk with trains to Edinburgh or Dundee, we went to Edinburgh had a great walk round, lovely lunch, shopping for the ladies and a nice beer with lunch with no concern about driving, the view going over the Forth Rail Bridge is stunning. Great road links take you to many interesting locations in Fife, we needed more than the week, so we will definitely be back at Seascape, one of Sykesâ best properties we have stayed in, oh, thanks for the Prosecco and chocs Paul
