What our customers say about their holidays

Some really good and some really bad things.
The views and size of the apartment were amazing. It was well stocked (other than having to provide our own hand soap). The location was as listed. The towels and sheets felt air-dried and rough and quite old - definitely not âluxuryâ We had two issues with heat and hot water while we were there which were resolved fairly quickly. However, during this we discovered that quite a few people nearby had keys to the apartment. This is understandable BUT quite alarming because there is no inside security lock for safety while in the apartment. The bedrooms are downstairs and you would not be able to hear someone entering the apartment. When we first got there, we had to get out the vacuum to remove 6 spiders and their well-established webs from the living room corners. The TV only had freeview - in an apartment listed as luxury I would expect a smart TV to be able to stream from an iPad to the TV. Last but certainly not least, the sofa and chairs were the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced. Seriously painful. Made worse by no footrest or reclining. In the evening it is nice to be able to sit and relax and watch TV or read a book. This was not possible.

We are regular visitors to the area and have stayed in Granville Point a number of times and even Number 7 previously, albeit a few years ago now.
The location and cleanliness at number 7, Seascapes was great. However we were really disappointed with how the apartment was equipped. On arrival, there were a couple of tea bags. The dishwasher needed salt and rinse aid from the moment we got there, no surface cleaner or handwash for the kitchen no bleach or bathroom spray for any of the toilets/bathrooms or spare loo rolls. In the kitchen there was a set of 3 pans the largest and most useable was without a lid, making cooking for a family of 5 challenging, no clingfilm, foil, bin bags or basic condiments. In short there was nothing other than 3 small bars of soap left for guests in each toilet. This made for a more hasty and expensive shop than originally planned following a long drive. It would also have been really nice to have had a table that 5 people could sit at. For information, my youngest went flying after tripping on the raised, frayed carpet outside of the shared bathroom door. As I said we love the area, and the location is fabulous, beds comfy, but thought I would share the above as you asked for feedback.

This was a fine, quiet place for my wife and me to spend nine days.
The cottage is clean and comfortable. On first arrival, the steep, bumpy track leading down to the farm is quite alarming, but one gets used to it in subsequent days. There's a good shower: plenty of hot water, steady temperature. The garden table & chairs shown in one of the photos is no longer there; it's been replaced by a makeshift table made from a cable drum, and some metal chairs. We did use this to enjoy breakfast in the open air - wonderful to be surrounded by birdsong, with the wide view over the valley in front of us. We were able to attend church - once in Combe Martin and once in Ilfracombe - and were made most welcome. The owners responded promptly and helpfully when we had an issue with the carbon monoxide detector; they also advised us about local walks. The house has a shelf full of books (mainly romances and thrillers), and I enjoyed one of these during the week. There are also a lot of maps and brochures with local information.

The seal had gone on the fridge / freezer door, whenever we closed the fridge door the freezer door popped open and vice versa.
I couldn't look up how to remedy as the Wifi was not working. Paper instructions for this would have been useful - they could have been laminated so wiped after use - or even stuck to the fridge door. Also annoyingly the lift was not working for the whole duration of our stay, which when bringing in shopping, suitcases up and down the stairs was far from ideal - a couple of small things that were unnecessarily irritating. Also with the sleeping arrangements being at the bottom and living quarters upstairs, the downstairs was very airless and quite claustrophobic. The apartment however was stunning and the views just as seen in the photographs.

This is the second time we have stayed in Seascapes and the third time we have stayed in Granville Point, and this occasion was no different from the previous stays.
Beautiful outlook across the Sea and surrounding Town makes staying here a joy. The apartment is nicely furnished and the Beds comfortable. Bathrooms are clean and tidy with excellent showers . Short walk to Town and short drives to places like Woolacombe make this an excellent base from which to see the surrounding Countryside. Seagulls are a hazard to car paintwork but nothing much can be done to prevent that, it is by the Sea after all, but cleaning it off quickly is need or else paintwork will be damaged. Would we holiday here againâ¦yes we would and enjoy just as much as the previous two stays.
