What our customers say about their holidays

  • Jacqui - Verified booking

Firstly, we had a fantastic time!

We usually stay somewhere else quite close by so we weren't sure what to expect and we really enjoyed it! What we loved: - Thank you for the beautiful cake, cookies and milk - a really lovely touch! - Location is fantastic both for the beach and the shop and it is really peaceful - Really cosy feel at night time - 2 bathrooms is great and lovely walk in shower in one - The kitchen is very well equipped - sharp knives, lovely pans, smart coffee machine and even had pasta bowls which was brilliant for us because we love a pasta bowl!! - Lots of storage space in the bedrooms - Uiltility room with extra fridge and the freezer / washing machine and dryer too - Enclosed private garden for our dog with a couple of nice chairs to use if sunny. - We felt 'at home' and comfortable very quickly - Felt secure due to the double doors at the front and all the keys to double lock the windows Couple of considerations - the front porch is tiny and unfortunately holds quite a musty/ nasty smell (probably due to storing shoes, wet coats etc) but it stays contained by closing the internal door. - Quite frustrating to have no control over the heating as this is controlled remotely. Perhaps less of a concern in July but in colder months it would be harder I think. - Hot water - needs to be boosted so sometimes you couldn't just wash up as you went (we didn't use the dishwasher as no dishwasher tabs left at all and not something we would use at home) - Maybe more than 1 food bag for recycling as we had used the one left for us in 2 days. - As mentioned, the kitchen was really great however only one 'normal' Wine glass in the vast array of glasses These are trivial matters and would in no way prevent us from returning because we loved it and didn't want to leave! It is great value for money for a genuinely wonderful location - 5 minute walk to the beach and also 5-10 mins through the country pathway to the coastal path. We will be back to 'Gorynys' ..Diolch!

We visited Glascoed on 17th October 2019 for a week, it’s a very nice end of terrace cottage ideally located for touring the Llyn Peninsula.

There are some pros and cons when it comes to Glascoed and we were a bit concerned about some of the other reviews we had read. It’s true to say that the decor is a bit dated especially the sofa and chairs, the living room carpet also had a large hole cut in it which was covered by a rug. The property was however clean when we arrived. The large enclosed back garden was ideal for our dogs, or so we thought, however there was a break in the fence adjoining the downstairs bathroom filled with deckchairs and garden debris. On our second day we found out why as a massive aggressive Great Dane and Mixed Breed Mastiff tried to break through and attack our dogs (they appeared to be alone guarding the empty property next door and where allowed out periodically). A couple of days in to our trip I also got a very nasty electric shock off the electric storage heater in the living room (not good considering I have a heart condition), Sykes and the owner quickly got an electrician out to rewire and sort out the problem while we where out at one of our trips to the beach. Another issue is the downstairs toilet and bathroom and some very steep stairs, if you need to pee during the night be prepared for a trek! Despite all the negative issues we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Llyn, I wouldn’t return to Glascoed however until it has been updated a little with some new furniture and furnishings.

This is our second stay at this property…….

It is such a perfect location for us. Very comfortable inside and quality furnishings and beds, bedding immaculate and nice thick towels provided. Everything you need apart from a dishwasher. To make it even better the addition of a hairdryer in one of the rooms would be great…..I mentioned this last year as well. On a safety aspect the shower is over the bath, there is nothing to hold on to when stepping in or out, I took my own bath mat this year as it can become quite slippy…..but the addition of a grab handle on the wall would be of great benefit to stop slips and falls, especially if you are not very “young”. The key safe outside is also very stiff so took my key out daily. All in all it wa a most comfortable stay, with the little “snags” mentioned rectified it would be a fantastic one. Recommends are The Cliffs, Ty Coch and the Golf club bar/snacks. Still not had time to try the pub in Eden which is only half mile walk. Will definitely be back again. The weather was also very kind to us which makes your holiday even better.

We have just returned after a perfect stay at the property.

We loved the home from home feel of the bungalow. It had everything we needed as a party of three adults and two children (13,17) Great to arrive to a welcome gift of cake, biscuits and milk but also to a few essential cupboard staples to make use of. Conservatory provided additional space for us to use as a family. Board games a welcome surprise too!! Two bathrooms also hugely beneficial with two teenagers! (walk in shower also great for someone who has mobility difficulties) My favourite was sitting in the lovely garden and relaxing with my book! (The lean too shed had additional chairs and garden games so take a look!) Returning home with minimal washing a bonus - As i was able to make good use of the washer and dryer in the annex. All in all a great property to stay in. Close to a local shop, coffee shop and short walk to the beach and Morfa Nefyn Golf course and Peninsula walk.

We had a fantastic stay in Gorynys.

The property is modern and comfortable. The location is great - really quiet area but within walking distance or short car ride to 3 fantastic beaches including a short 15/20 min walk to the Ty Coch Inn. The garden is lovely, relaxing and very safe for our dog. We had plenty of hot water thanks to the 'boost' buttons. The kitchen is small but functional and it was nice having an extra fridge freezer in the outside utility room. The only issue we had was with the wheelie bins which were very full when we arrived. We left the bins out on the indicated day but the general refuse was not collected. I presume this means it is a fortnightly collection - if this is the case then a laminated calendar in the kitchen would be helpful to instruct guests when this bin should be left out for collection. We'd definitely stay here again.
