What our customers say about their holidays
Peter - Verified booking
We unknowingly booked Sea Breeze during the 4 day Lammas Fair.
We were informed only 3 days prior to arrival that it was happening and that road outside the property was to be closed Monday and Tuesday from 8am to 10pm and that we wouldnât be able to move our car during these times. We were not informed that there would be a funfair in the park opposite playing loud, blaring music till 11pm over the 4 days. It was unbearable. My young daughter couldnât sleep and we felt trapped. The freezer door was broken on arrival. I informed the owners but it wasnât repaired whilst we were there. The sash windows didnât lock properly so it was impossible to keep the noise of the fairground out. There was a strange, musty smell on the stairs. I often kept the front door open to air the area. The shower in the front room was stuck on hot - the thermostat wasnât working. I managed to find alternative accommodation away from Ballycastle for 2 nights so my daughter could get some sleep but neither the owner nor Sykes were willing, as a act of goodwill, to reimburse me the extra expense. Will not be using again.

We had a wonderful stay at this property.
It has a great location with lovely views of the town and Carlingford Lough. It is conveniently situated with easy access to the town. The rooms are spacious and well laid out with comfortable furniture. Everything we needed was there. If we had a wish list it would be to add a smart tv so that we could watch netflix etc. We missed having an ensuite but the bathroom was handy to all bedrooms so it wasn't a serious issue. The second toilet was useful. We would have preferred dog proof fencing at the front of the property or perhaps a fully fenced backyard. There was no barrier between the house at both ends to prevent our small dog from leaving the property had it tried to. The rear fence slats were a little wide or at least appeared to be consequently we had to stand guard whilst our Zoe went outside. All in all a great property and a credit to its owners. Thanks for allowing us to spend a week there, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Oh and thanks so much for the goodies you left for us, tea cakes and crisps etc.

Weâve just returned from the most wonderful stay at this holiday cottage in Northern Ireland, and to be honest, we almost donât want to write a review because itâs such a hidden gem!
But here goes. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the incredibly friendly host, who made us feel right at home. Itâs clear they take great pride in their property, and itâs reflected in every detail. The cottage itself is warm, cosy, and beautifully decorated, with just the right balance of modern comfort and rustic charm. The living room, with its inviting fireplace, was the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. And the viewâwow. Waking up to the sound of the sea and watching the waves roll in from the windows was absolutely magical. We spent hours just gazing out over the water, feeling totally at peace. We almost want to keep this little place to ourselves, but we know it deserves to be shared. So, if you're lucky enough to book it, enjoy it as much as we did!

From the moment Eileen met us at the door with the keys we felt right at home here.
Lovely house, cozily furnished and so comfortable, with fantastic views of the beach from the picture window in the living room. Mussenden Temple and Downhill Demesne is practically across the street, and we loved having such easy access to its beautiful grounds and well maintained walking paths. The house is just a few miles from some of the most spectacular stops on the Causeway Coastal Route (Dunluce Castle, Giantâs Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge), and we had a great time exploring the area and its many wonders. There are a couple of good dining options in Castlerock (the Meatbox makes amazing burgers), and plenty of options nearby for grocery shopping if you prefer to prepare your own meals. A wonderful experience overall, would be happy to stop here again. Highly recommended.

We loved this beautiful cottage from the moment we walked in!
It's really homely and welcoming, and we enjoyed a wonderful and very special week there. The sea views are stunning, the best we've ever had from a holiday cottage, and it was magical to watch the sunrise over the bay. We could easily have stayed in all day just looking at the view. However, we tore ourselves away as Rocklea is ideally located for exploring this beautiful area, and we very much enjoyed the Mournes, Tollymore, Murlough, Silent Valley and Castlewellan Country Park. Also, the coastal path from Bloody Bridge has fabulous views out to sea. The cottage is well equipped, cosy and very comfortable and we would highly recommend it. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you, Mary, for all your kindness and helpfulness to us, which we really appreciate. Jo and Ian
