If you're looking for something truly luxurious, then Villa Rahela is for you! Located in D-Marin Mandalina, this is an award-winning area jam-packed with super-yachts, lending it a taste of sheer elegance. You can enjoy some of the most beautiful views of the Sibenik Old Town, known initially as Croatia's oldest city with a history spanning 950 years. Croatia is a delightful place to see both the best of the old and the most luxurious of the new. Villa Rahela is situated on hotel grounds, home to 63 luxurious rooms, six suites and, finally, these three exclusive villas. These gorgeous villas have an atmosphere at their heart, creating a calming, relaxed and welcoming sense of bliss without scrimping on the exclusive feel.
The very design and aesthetic of the hotel replicates the shape of the Mandalina peninsula upon which its seated – a winding, undulating shape that mirrors the local terrain whilst each villa is unique – no two have been made the same. They're designed to appear as though they are blinking out at you from the rocks themselves, at one with nature. This adds to a sense of peaceful seclusion even though you're very much in an area where adventure is on your doorstep.
Every villa is decorated simply but opulently, giving you a comfortable space to relax as a couple, family or gathering of friends. The exclusive villas are developed to be minimalistic in style, which creates a calming and airy space where you can unwind. But there's still a touch of the modern here to ensure you know which century you're in! Each with its own elegant charm, you can easily ensconce yourself away should you desire to. Your villa contains a main living area, a private outdoor heated swimming pool, an outdoor terrace and your private parking lot. With two spacious bedrooms, the villa is ideal for a couple, a travelling pair of friends or a small family. You can also enjoy the dining area, which comfortably seats six and the fully equipped kitchen where you can rustle up your favourite meals should you decide to stay in. With four sun beds, you can relax in your private outdoor area and take in the sun (sensibly, of course). Airy and light, you can enjoy the beautiful views all around you and make the most of the enchanting weather. Simple and stylish, these villas marry true opulence with a welcoming feel.
You can use all of the hotel's exclusive facilities as villa guests. Make use of the gym, enjoy a revitalising facial using Bernard Cassiere's products or partake in a body treatment, such as a massage or sea salt and natural oils body scrub. Rituals treatments are available, which are intended to transport you to various destinations, including French Polynesia and South America. We know that scents are powerful and can hugely impact how we feel, which is why these treatments are so rejuvenating – a real treat to the self.
If you've not experienced one before, a Hammam ritual is a must-try. This is one of the oldest methods of cleansing the body and is comprised of a body scrub followed by a massage. There are also a series of maternity treatments available for pregnant women. There are services specially tailored to men to assist with vitality and strength and a series of indulgent rituals for couples. You can also use personal yoga coaching and body coaching services.
After all that relaxation or working out, you're likely to feel hungry. There are numerous restaurants where you can dine on delicious Mediterranean and international fare using high-quality local ingredients.
The hotel also possesses five bars, including the Lobby bar, Art Bar, Pool Bar, Roof Bar (perhaps our favourite), and Peninsula Grill and Bar. With two swimming pools, you can also make use of swim vests and floating noodles, ideal for children and families. Nearby to many beaches, water sports and yachting experiences, excursions and local shopping, there's a great deal to explore further afield.
There’s so much to see, do, and experience in Sibenik, which is why the area is becoming ever more popular. Some of Sibenik’s key draws are its stunning natural beauty, its culture and heritage, wonderful food, fun clubs and variety – there is simply something for everyone here.
You’re also only thirty minutes from some gorgeous national parks and an hour away from Split and Zadar – both beautiful cities in their own right and well worth a visit should you have time.
Foodies will adore the endless and ample cuisine. There are many international dishes to enjoy and traditional offerings, known locally as “konoba” – restaurants that offer fine dining experiences and restaurants.
Sibenik is also a global host to many cultural and music events typically occurring in the city centre. Brimming with culture, you may wish to check out the superstar of Sibenik, its cathedral. For those who favoured the hit HBO series Game of Thrones’ some scenes were shot within this cathedral.
From Sibenik, you can easily plan a day trip to Krka National Park, a wonderful place to hike, swim or go boating. You can also arrange a tour should you prefer to do so. Another national park on your doorstep is Kornati, a series of islands renowned as one of the most beautiful islands clusters across the Mediterranean. Many islands are nestled in a small space in a highly dense archipelago, creating a maze of 140 uninhabited islands.
Sibenik is also home to four fortresses which have stood since Medieval Times. St. Michael’s Fortress is the most visited of the four, but you should also explore the others. A walking tour (many of which are free or operate on voluntary donations) is a great way to explore, especially as Sibenik, with its slow, sleepy serene vibe, has all the trimmings of a large village. You can’t get lost as such, but there is much to discover.
Banj Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Croatia, with absolutely unbeatable views. When in Croatia, it’s always encouraged to take to the Adriatic. Why not go for a morning kayak and journey past the fortress of St. Nicholas? Explore the channel of St. Anthony and look back at Sibenik’s splendour.
The Old Town makes for a charming walk and gives insight into Sibenik’s origins. It also makes for an incredibly peaceful stroll. Finally, head to Barone Fortress for sunrise or sunset at least once. It’s an incredible way to start or end the day. Sibenik is less explored than Split or Zadar, but many people still stop by – you’ll soon see why this area is growing in popularity whilst enjoying some serenity.
