Villa Marios is a wonderful, family friendly villa that sits within beautiful landscaped grounds on a prestigious private gated estate, in the exclusive Argaka area of Polis. The villa is incredibly spacious, very smart and offers exceptional outdoor space. Argaka is a pretty, tranquil village in the Paphos district at the central eastern part of the beautiful Chrysohous Bay. The village offers an idyllic setting where you can enjoy warm Cypriot hospitality and sensational sunsets. The village of Argaka boasts a charming church and a few local tavernas. Polis, with its brilliant array of restaurants, bars, shops and market stalls is ten minutes away and the popular resort of Latchi is just fifteen minutes away. Latchi offers a charming, picturesque harbour and its famous fish restaurants. The small harbour of Pomos also enjoys a delightful selection of traditional tavernas sprinkled along its coastline.

Villa Marios enjoys a wonderfully airy, open plan living space. With doors and windows all around it is drowned in natural light and enjoys beautiful views of the pool and the garden and its fabulous plants and shrubs. The villa sleeps up to eight guests in four bedrooms. The lower ground floor is home to a small gym and seating area, a sauna, a shower room, a guest cloakroom and a self-contained double room with use of a fridge freezer, hob, microwave and ensuite bathroom. The bedroom leads directly to the villa’s beautifully maintained colourful, lush gardens and a furnished terrace. There is also a very handy laundry room on this level.

Your living spaces for the week are on the ground floor with numerous doors opening to a large furnished terrace. A very elegant living area sits at one end with a smart corner sofa and a beautiful wooden sideboard and unit. A large television sits on top offering a good range of channels. Next to the living space is a circular table and chairs which is ideal for drinks or perhaps a game of cards while enjoying the garden and pool views. Beside this is your formal dining area with its smart dining table and chairs and a sideboard that matches the living room one. You will be dining in style with a view here. Opposite this space is a wonderful, fully-fitted kitchen with excellent appliances and a useful breakfast bar where guests can keep the chefs company with a glass of chilled wine in hand. The terrace enjoys a lovely spot for alfresco dining or drinks.

The remaining three bedrooms can be found on the upper floor. The master bedroom suite boasts a walk-in wardrobe, a large ensuite bathroom and a balcony with gorgeous panoramic sea views. It is a great spot for watching the colourful sunsets. The second bedroom also enjoys access to the balcony and offers a smart ensuite bathroom and a comfy, beautifully dressed bed. The final bedroom looks over the pool and garden enjoying another balcony, another fully tiled pristine ensuite shower room and a superbly comfortable bed.

Steps lead down from the ground floor to the pool terrace and the gorgeous unique shaped pool. Luxury loungers, parasols and a lovely seating area surround the pool. Just to the side you will discover a stunning shaded alfresco dining area with wonderful outdoor furniture and a barbecue. There is plenty of helpful serving space and a useful sink. The area is surrounded by pretty plants. It enjoys a lovely spot and it is all the more social if you have friends staying in the neighbouring Villa Aloneftis!

Villa Marios sits within a beautiful landscaped garden on an exclusive private estate in secured gated grounds in the tranquil village of Argaka. The estate is just a few minutes from delightful village of Polis. Polis and its neighbouring harbour village Latchi enjoy a lovely position on Chrysohous Bay offering a very welcoming ambience. Latchi boasts a string of fine fish restaurants where you will dine in style with pretty views. The Baths of Aphrodite can be found near Latchi, roughly 18 miles from Paphos. You will discover a natural cavern that features a caved shallow pool surrounded by ferns and a large fig tree. A natural spring supplies the pool water and according to myth, Aphrodite would bathe in the pool and it is where she met her great love, Adonis. The waters are rumoured to hold special rejuvenating powers.

In the northwest corner of the island, the Akamas National Park covers an area of 239 km sprinkled with valleys, gorges and wide sandy bays. There are 168 varieties of birds, 20 different reptiles, 16 species of butterfly and a very rich variety of fauna. It is a wonderful area for wildlife, fauna and keen walkers and mountain bikers. One of the favourite places is the Blue Lagoon which many guests visit by boat. The crystal clear blue water is amazing and it is very popular for snorkeling. Lara Beach is within easy reach of Villa Marios. You will discover soft, golden sand and crystal clear waters though you may need to rent a 4 by 4 car to reach the beach. It is the breeding ground of the endangered Green turtle and Hawk’s Bill turtle. There are three official nature trails through the Akamas peninsula, the Adonis, Aphrodite and Smigies trails. They are interwoven with rocks, gorges and valleys and offer stunning views of the curved coastline, cliffs and boulders.

The vibrant, buzzy town of Paphos offers a diverse range of entertainment. It takes you back to ancient Greece with its temples and colourful mosaics, it treats you to delicious cuisine, it offers excellent shopping opportunites and rewards you will cultural attractions. Paphos Old Town is a recognised site of historic and archaeological importance. The Ancient Greeks believed Aphrodite rose from the sea at Paphos. The entire town is on the unesco World Cultural Heritage List. For a cultural day out you can visit the Tomb of the Kings outside the northern walls of Paphos Town where the Egyptian catacombs are carved out of solid rock. You can also visit the wonderful Kato Paphos Archaeological Park which houses impressive Roman mosaics or the famous House of Dionysos. Up on the hill, the majestic columns of the Temple of Aphrodite frame the sweeping sea views. The Old Town boasts charming cobbled streets brimming with pavement cafes and bars and the modern harbour is packed with vibrant, buzzy bars and restaurants. Paphos’ Blue Flag beach is small but mighty, right in the town centre and split into two parts. Plenty of sunloungers offer wonderful spots on the sand and wooden deck to enjoy the guaranteed sunshine. Most of the beach is backed by craggy rocks and overlooked by the medieval castle.

Pissouri Beach and village enjoys delightful Cypriot character and spectacular views. During the summer it hosts a ‘Cyprus night’ in the lovely traffic free village square with dancing and music. It is possible to see the shore line all the way to Limassol and to the north you can see the Troodos range, including Mount Olympus, the highest mountain on the island. Amid the cool, fragrant pine and cedar forests of the Troodos mountains are some spectacular churches. Ten have been awarded World Heritage Status in recognition of their incredibly detailed and vibrant Byzantine frescoes. You can to the characterful village of Khirokhitia where the houses look like tiny ceramic pots. They were home to the earliest known civilisation on Cyprus.
