This one-of-a-kind villa is located in a hilly residential area, with six bedrooms and four bathrooms, offering plenty of space for a group of twelve guests.
Designed with the South African philosophy of Ubuntu in mind, the entire villa has been carefully curated to provide a harmonious environment for groups and families, with an atmosphere of togetherness that weaves through every corner of the living spaces.
As you step inside, natural stonework, glass, concrete and wood all work in delicate harmony to enhance the simple, timeless architecture. Built over two levels, the main living, daytime spaces are on the ground floor, with the bedrooms downstairs.
A large revolving front door guides you into the villa’s bright and airy living space. Open plan, you can meander between each area, enjoying the proximity of your friends and family, yet still embracing moments of privacy when you need. There is a fully equipped kitchen, pantry and bar, leading onto a social dining room and fantastic living room. The whole room boasts a backdrop of vast sliding windows that open up to the terrace and create a constant connection to the outdoors. With a hanging fireplace and furniture that looks like it has been pulled from a design magazine, Villa Compassio will give you plenty of inspiration for interior design changes back home!
Downstairs, each of the bedrooms is a good size, with two en-suites and two-family bathrooms between them. With a backdrop of pine trees and the blue azure of Gaou Bay, out each window, you can wake up everyday and immerse yourself in this beautiful setting, with a covered terrace outside the rooms that leads out to the garden and pool.
Outside, the large terrace stretches the entire length of the house, with a lounge corner and plenty of space to barbecue and dine al-fresco. East-facing, the views perfectly frame the sunrise each morning, so you can settle down with a cup of coffee and get ready for the day. The garden boasts a heated swimming pool, wooden bar and pétanque court, all overlooking the endless lawn and sheltered by palm trees.
Villa Compassio is located in the beautiful hilly residential area of Bormes-les-Mimosas in the Cote d'Azur. It’s a steep drive up to the villa but it is well worth it, with gorgeous views of the surrounding landscapes and a backdrop of pine trees and the blue azure of Gaou Bay.
The bakery, tennis courts and a private beach with a restaurant are just a five-minute walk from the villa, so you can all come and go as you please. You will be able to pick up groceries in either Bormes-les-Mimosas or in the supermarkets close to Le Lavandou.
Bormes-les-Mimosas is best known for its pretty bougainvillea decorated stone houses, after all it is said to be one of the most flower-filled villages of France. It’s a beautiful old village and it has everything you need here from craft market and tourist office to restaurants, shops and a bank.
The coastal area of Le Lavandou lies at the foot of the Massif des Maures and used to be a small fishing port in a bay which extends over 12km along the Mediterranean. Destroyed in 1944 and rebuilt after the war, it has become a popular tourist destination with a huge marina lined with fishing boats and international yachts. The fishermen sell their catch in the market every morning and the Thursday farmers market has plenty of fresh local produce. There is a lively summer nightlife here with bars, night clubs and casinos as well as quieter restaurants and cafes.
Le Lavandou has twelve beautifully maintained and individually named fine sanded beaches with crystal clear waters where you can swim, paddle board and kayak. Indeed, the quality of the seabed, water and beaches has attracted many awards making the area a paradise for divers and lovers of water sports. A popular choice for visitors is the many boat trips from Lavandou up the coastline towards Brégançon or Saint-Tropez and daily twenty-minute shuttles to the enchanting Iles D’Or, each island heavenly but with a distinct personality.
