Located at the end of a country lane in peaceful isolation, this Achill Island cottage has been appointed in a friendly and traditional style to provide cosy and comfortable accommodation, perfect for a small family or a couple looking for a romantic retreat. With the accommodation entirely across the ground floor,this Achill Island cottage has three bedrooms, a kitchen with dining area, and a homely sitting room featuring a warming stove adding to the serene atmosphere. Outside you can settle and enjoy the stunning views, or take a stroll down to the shoreline to absorb the wonderful scenery. The village of Achill Sound is situated on Achill Island and is surrounded by spectacular countryside and a beautiful bay. The island has five Blue Flag beaches, so an unspoilt haven is never far away, ideal for a day of family fun or a late evening stroll with only the sound of the sea for company. Cottage was immaculately clean & contained everything that you could need but really needs some TLC (furniture very uncomfortable and past its sell by date, fridge door fell off, wobbly taps in en suite to name a few) We will be back but not until the road has been repaired.

Our kids loved the swing in the garden and the bunk beds and the donkeys in the field next door. I just loved the get away from it all feel and just the feel of the cottage. It was lovely.

Sound cottage is a lovely quaint cottage, with everything you need provided. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived. Plenty of games / dvdâs as tv doesnât always work due to no signal. The cottage has everything you need , hair dryers, slow cooker, every kitchen utensil you can think of, George Forman grill, plenty of thick duvets for when it is cold, washing machine and dryer. We did find the sofa and chairs were past their best , very uncomfortable especially when weather is bad and you are in for the day. Also the lane down to the cottage is really bad with pot holes, we hired a car so was concerned about damaging it every time we went out. Apart from the seating and lane everything was great , I would recommend Sound Cottage to anyone wanting to stay on Achill , I for one will definitely be back
