Kilkenny 7.5 miles. This delightful, detached farmhouse is situated next to the owners home and working farm, near the hamlet of Kilmanagh and just a few miles from the city of Kilkenny. This charming 19th century farmhouse has been tastefully renovated from its original purpose and now offers a stylish and welcoming home-from-home for families and friends wishing to spend time amongst Kilkennys glorious countryside. Boasting a spacious layout, the cottage comprises a charming fitted kitchen with sociable breakfast area for casual dining and a separate formal dining room for more special occasions. The cosy sitting room invites you to curl up and relax beside the open fire and enjoy a glass of wine or a hot cup of cocoa after a long day spent exploring the surrounding scenery. The farmhouse is gorgeous. It has every convenience you could wish for. The bedlinen, especially, was beautiful. The only two improvements, which I am not sure the owners could do anything about, are that the hot water temperature was not very good. We used the showers, which were great, but the bath was at best tepid, even after adding several kettles of boiling water. The water pressure coukd definitely do with improving. Maybe it is lead piping furred up. The TV programmes are very limited but there are a few DVD's to watch. Despite this we had an excellent stay and would return given the opportunity.
