About this property

Carrick 3 miles. A delightful detached house near Bannow, exceptionally placed on the County Wexford coastline. With great sea views and the beach only down the lane, this is a perfect destination for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy a relaxing break away. This comfortable cottage has three good-sized bedrooms upstairs, one of which has an en-suite shower, as well as a family bathroom. On the ground floor there is a dining room with solid fuel stove, and a sitting room with an open fire, both great for taking it easy at the end of the day either relaxing over a tasty meal, vegging out with a movie on the TV or curled up with a good book. There is also a well-equipped kitchen with dining area where you can prepare a tasty feast, and then move into the sunroom with a refreshing drink at the end of the day. Step outside with a glass of wine and take a seat looking out over the Celtic Sea while the youngsters run around the garden, or take a stroll down to the beach and go for a quick dip. Carrick is a quick jaunt down the road and has a few pubs where you can grab a drink and a bite to eat. Alternatively, a little further away is Wellingtonbridge that should tend to all of your basic needs. Travel a bit further and see the likes of the Hook Head Lighthouse, the Dunbrody Famine Ship, the Duncannon Fort, New Ross, Waterford and Wexford. An outstanding property that will be enjoyed at any time of the year.

Carrick is a small village, with a shop, three pubs, a hairdresser’s and a guesthouse, in County Wexford, on the east coast of Ireland. Half an hour by car will take you to the cliff top village of Rosslare; with the second largest harbour in Ireland and panoramic views of Rosslare Bay, it is well worth a visit.

The house is excellent and the peaceful and secluded location is perfect for us. Having a small beach so close by is a real bonus, even if as other reviews have said the walk to it is a little tricky. There is lots of outdoor space for the kids and the view over Bannow bay is excellent. Other reviews have said the TV is not a smart one, this is not the case. The owner was very helpful and gave us lots of useful information about the area. If available we would definitely book again

The rocking chair had a broken arm and I had to ask for it to be tied up as the screw from underneath was sticking up. The cooker hob was very hard to use , you could not always get it to work, we were told this by the owner. The hover could not be used as the tube was split. The beds were very uncomfortable. The showers had not been cleaned for a long time and I have to admit I just gave the quickest wipe on leaving the property. The pub a mile away was close. The path down to the beach was not easy to use for older people. NOT UP TO SKYES USUAL STANDARY.

Well appointed with a friendly, helpful and yet non-intrusive host. Minutes to walk onto a secluded beach and very peaceful. We had a lovely relaxing stay at Waters House. Point to note is that the TV is not a smart TV and channels are limited to say the very least so bring a book or a DVD player!!
