A fantastic detached holiday cottage on the edge of the popular seaside village of Spanish Point, County Clare. Lovingly refurbished and extended, the original part of this cottage dates from 1940, and incorporates a number of features from the time, with flagstones and original doors dating from the property's earlier life. Sash windows and a stable door also add to the character of this lovely Spanish Point cottage. There is plenty of space to gather together, with two separate sitting rooms - one with leather furniture and a traditional stone fireplace housing a cosy woodburner, and a more modern area with picture window, comfy furniture and an open fire as well as a library of books, games and DVDs. The well-equipped kitchen and dining area offer quality fixtures and fittings, with a Kensington range and doors out onto the sunny patio area. County Clare is renowned for its stunning coastline, and from the cottage you are perfectly placed to discover this for yourself, with a choice of Blue Flag beaches in the area and the spectacular Cliffs of Moher less than a half hour's drive. Experience surfing for the first time at Lahinch or enjoy some traditional music in Doolin. Whatever you decide, this quality cottage is sure to please.
Situated on the west coast of County Clare in Ireland, the village of Spanish Point takes its name from the Spaniards who died there in 1588 when the Armada was wrecked during stormy weather. Today, the village consists of many holiday homes, several pubs - some of which offer live Irish music - a lovely beach which is popular amongst swimmers and surfers, and a nine-hole golf course - one of the oldest in Ireland. Just three miles away is the small town of Miltown Malbay, providing a selection of shops and pubs, whilst the seaside town of Lahinch is also close by. Visitors can enjoy the Cliffs of Moher - located to the north of Lahinch - which offer superb views of the North Atlantic and the Aran Islands in clear weather.

Finbar was very welcoming and the fresh scones hit the spot after a long drive down. The house is beautiful. We were very lucky with the weather and we spent most evenings on the beach watching the sunset with the dog. Would recommend Bluebell Cottage.
