Guests say

Guests have had a delightful experience at Brendan's Cottage, praising its peacefulness, beautiful garden, and proximity to the sea. The owner's hospitality is frequently highlighted, with mentions of a warm welcome and helpfulness. The cottage's charm and cleanliness contribute to a comfortable stay, despite some noting quirks and a damp smell. The lack of internet and additional charges for utilities are minor drawbacks for some. Overall, the property is highly recommended for a relaxing break in a scenic location.

The majority of reviews describe the cottage as clean and immaculate, with only a single mention of a damp smell and spots of mold. The positive remarks suggest a high level of cleanliness overall.

The location is consistently praised for its beauty and proximity to the sea, with Valentia Island's historical significance and scenic views being a highlight. The convenience for touring and tranquility of the area are also appreciated.

Guests find the cottage cosy and comfortable, with a relaxing atmosphere. However, there are a few comments about the cold and the furniture not being very comfortable, which slightly lowers the score.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the well-equipped kitchen. Some guests were concerned about the additional charges for heating and electricity, and the lack of internet access, which affects the score.

The owner's thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with guests appreciating the welcome with milk, cakes, and fire-starting materials. While these gestures are warmly received, it is noted that such personal touches may vary and are not guaranteed.

Peter, the owner was very welcoming and even provided us with everything for afternoon tea with cakes! The “icing on the cake” for us was the beautiful garden. It was so tranquil and relaxing, with a wonderful view. I could have stayed forever, I loved it so much! We look forward to going back again soon.

All facilities at the house worked perfectly. We were warm and cozy on rainy days and basked in the sun in the beautiful, back yard when it was clear. The beds were just the right firmness and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. Thanks too, for the milk and tea cakes - they were delicious. We will look forward to staying again next time in Kerry.
