About this property

Derrybeg 4.5 miles. Gweedore View House is a gorgeous pet-friendly holiday home near the village of Derrybeg in County Donegal. This property has ground-floor living with en-suite bedrooms, an open fire, chapel views and is across the way from a children’s park, making it ideal for a fantastic family getaway in Ireland. Walk through the door into the large hallway and be welcomed into the sitting room with several sofas to choose from. Let the warmth of the open fire cover you, ready for a binge on the Smart TV. Upstairs gives you another Smart TV if everyone cannot agree on what to watch. There is a selection of books and games to entertain the little ones as well. The kitchen is waiting to cook up something delicious using the oil cooker. Either use the dining seating in the kitchen or the large dining room to share some laughs as you compliment the family chef. After food, be sure to enjoy the garden or take the kids over to the nearby park. When the sunset approaches to golden up the skyline, get ready for rest by having a soothing bath or shower before jumping into one of the king, double or single beds to prepare for a day of fun ahead of you. A pub is close by for some food or drink, and shops are a short drive away should you require any essentials. For a day at the beach to make the little ones scream with excitement, take the trip to Glassagh Lower Bay Beach. Have sandcastle competitions, take a ball for a sandy kick about, or simply enjoy the beaming sun as the sea ripples against your toes. After, be sure to go on a tranquil walk through the Bloody Foreland and spot some natural wildlife before finding a spot for a picnic. Gweedore is a splendid day for the kids as they get the chance to discover some new furry friends at the Errigal View Pet Zoo. Take a bike tour with Gweedore Adventures or take a stroll along the Lough Nacung Lower river to get to the Dunlewey Church with a stunning mountain drop back. Slightly further away is the Glenveagh National Park for some glorious hikes, guided walks to the Glenveagh Castle or a chance to test your fishing skills in some picturesque lakes. Have a family holiday to remember for a lifetime by booking Gweedore View House now.

The village of Gortahork is situated on the north western tip of the County Donegal coast, and is an increasingly popular location for surfing and walking. There are several beautiful beaches around the area, and the village is home to the Samhain International Poetry Festival each year. From Gortahork, Glenveagh National Park is easily accessible for a great day out, and with 16,000 acres, it is a walker's paradise. The renowned artist Derek Hill bequeathed his house and gallery near Glenveagh along with his art collection to the nation in 1980, attached is Glebe Gallery and tea rooms which hosts many exhibitions. For a day's relaxation head to nearby Bunbeag which has a swimming pool and a spa area or An Chuirt Hotel which lies at the foot of the Errigal Mountain and has its own health club and spa. Island-hopping is fun for all the family, and from Gortahork, you can charter a boat and visit Arranmore, Cruit Island and Owey Island. Cruit Island is joined to the mainland by a bridge, so is easily reached by car, but chartering a boat is much more exciting! Nearby, the town of Dungloe plays host to the annual ‘Mary From Dungloe’ festival, and is renowned for its fantastic fishing. This is a great location, and an ideal base for touring the area.
