With breath-taking views of the sea, Villa Calpe enjoys an incredible location. Sleeping four people, this intriguing villa has a private pool, a terraced garden and characterful interior.
The accommodation is across two levels, with two twin bedrooms and two bathrooms. The kitchen is small but well-appointed and leads out to the charming lounge area with it’s exposed beams and large stoned archway. This space connects to both the indoor dining room and your fabulous outdoor dining area.
Framed by whitewashed archways on two sides, you’ll feel like part of a picture postcard. Despite this beautiful, cool and shady terrace being dedicated to al fresco dining, you’ll find it hard to take your gaze off the view. Villa Calpe’s pool terrace lies in the foreground and beyond it the sparkling Mediterranean Sea and the Rock of Ifach at the bay of Calpe. From here, you can take the winding exterior staircase down to the pool on the next level or gravelled garden below that. Villa Calpe’s dramatic hillside location means each level has its own unique aspect on the sea and bay.
The private pool juts out lengthways from the villa, making the most of the elevated position. The tiled steps lead you down into the welcome cool of the water and you can swim, play, splash or relax all day if you wish because it’s all yours! Enjoy the sun terrace, complete with loungers and umbrella. Soak up the Spanish sun here before washing it away in the outdoor shower or jumping back into your private pool.
Villa Calpe’s location offers the best of both worlds. It’s a fantastic base from which to explore this peaceful countryside and yet just five kilometres down at the coast, Calpe has everything from the natural wonder of the Penon de Ifach, a huge choice of award-winning beaches, lively tourist hotspots and historic sites dating back thousands of years.
Take an early morning walk in the fragrant, hilly countryside surrounding Villa Calpe to spot lemon, orange and almond trees or Mediterranean Pine. The Costa Blanca region enjoys a warm, temperate climate year-round, with the heat of summer tempered by the cool sea breeze.
It’s only five kilometres down to Calpe town centre, with all its amenities and long list of visitor attractions. The impressive hulk of the Ifach rock is a national landmark and iconic for the Costa Blanca region. Reaching 332 metres, it is possible to reach the summit but this considerable feat is only advisable for the most confident of climbers.
Penon de Ifach looms over the numerous Blue flag beaches dotted along Calpe’s coastline, including a mix of busy urban beaches and quieter coves. Calpe’s history dates back thousands of years with a series of Iberian, Roman, Christian and Moorish settlers, all of whom have left a fascinating collection of ruins and artefacts behind. Head for the old town and Moorish quarter to pick up the trail.
For water sports, there are fun activities from the beaches plus Calpe’s port has a nautical club offering yachting, water skiing and windsurfing. You could take a boat trip from the modern marina.
Whether you fancy a bite to eat at lunchtime or are dining out in the evening, Calpe’s restaurants include local, Spanish and international cuisine. If you want to try a local dish, Arroz a Banda is fish and rice stew or you can always opt for Paella; the dish of the region’s capital – Valencia. Jalon is the locally produced wine.
Everywhere has an energetic buzz of holidaymakers, thanks to Calpe being one of Costa Blanca’s busier tourist hot-spots. The eclectic mix of ancient history, natural wonders and modern tourism works amazingly well together! You really do have the best of both worlds here. After a day filled with the sights, sounds, colours and wonders of Calpe, you can return home to your very own private villa and pool. Relax on the peaceful terrace with a glass of vino, and dwell on all you’ve done that day whilst gazing out on your favourite view.
