Petals Patch is set in the heart of the Cotswolds and offers guests a delightful countryside retreat of tranquillity which will have you feeling right at home from the moment you arrive. This traditional Cotswold Stone Barn is converted with a contemporary twist on the traditional. With ample off-road parking on the doorstep, after a long day of exploring, step into the spacious, light and airy open-plan living space which has everything you need in one space. The ground floor, kitchen/lounge/diner and en-suite are all on one level with no steps which would be suitable for those with mobility issues. The kitchen is well-equipped with all the amenities for the chef of the group to cook up some standout meals for your party. The lounge area boasts exposed beams and a Cotswold stone wall with a delightful view of the garden and the horses’ paddock. The friendly horses are always ready to greet new faces over the fence. As well as horses there is plenty of wildlife (rabbits, squirrels, birds, etc.) that are all freely roaming the garden and paddock. A truly great space to sit back, relax and let the world pass by. In the morning be prepared to be woken up by chirping birds! There is also a lovely space on the mezzanine overlooking the horse's paddock for those not lucky enough to leave work behind. Found on the outskirts of the idyllic village of Lower Slaughter and the popular village of Bourton-On-the-Water, the latter offers local shops, pubs and restaurants. Also as seen on Clarkson’s Farm, Hawkstone Brewery is nearby and is a must-visit if you’re keen to try the Hawkstone beer which is only growing in popularity! The quintessential market town of Stow-on-the-Wold is accessible by car or bus, which offers fine antique shops, and art galleries and is a centre for walking the Cotswolds countryside. Further up is Moreton-in-Marsh, a thriving market town with good public transport links including a railway link to London Paddington. This offers an opportunity for those interested in visiting on bike as the Cotswolds is a popular cycling destination (the property offers bike storage with prior arrangement). There are also plenty of independent shops and cafes in Moreton which may take your fancy plus the market which takes place on Tuesdays. Bibury is another beautiful village where its famous row of houses (Arlington Row), is a true embodiment of Cotswold charm and is also featured on the inside cover of the UK passport. Sporty guests can enjoy a round at the Shipton Golf Course, a lovely pay-and-play 9-hole course with a lovely atmosphere and views when the sun is shining. Next door is the Frog Mill which is a great place to stop in after your game for a refreshing pint! For those interested in horse racing look no further than Cheltenham, host of the Golden Cup, which offers the renowned Cheltenham Festival. Cheltenham also offers Literature, Music and Jazz Festivals. Within the surrounding areas are many other Cotswold villages and towns including Broadway, Burford, Cirencester, Chipping Norton, Winchcombe, Cleeve Hill, Chipping Campden and many more. The property is an excellent base to explore the Cotswold. Outside the Cotswold area, but still easily accessible by car, are Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick Castle and Blenheim Palace. All of this and much more await you at Petals Patch.
Four miles to the southwest of Stow-on-the-Wold is the village of Lower Slaughter in Gloucestershire, England's Cotswold region. The River Eye, which also flows through Upper Slaughter, is a slow-moving stream that is bridged by two footbridges, and the settlement is situated on both banks of it. A 19th-century water mill with an undershot waterwheel and a chimney for additional steam generation is located near the west end of the community. The village's river ford is located where it expands, and several little stone footbridges connect the two sides of the settlement. The charming St. Mary's church is located in Lower Slaughter. However, some of the arches between the nave and the south aisle date back to the 13th century. In contrast, the church of St. Peter's in Upper Slaughter is a mediaeval Norman church with portions dating back to the 12th century.
