About this property

Dove Cottage is a beautiful, traditional Cotswold stone property, tucked away in the picturesque Cotswold village of Naunton. Perfect for couples or a small family, this cottage is an ideal base for exploring the stunning Cotswolds region.

A gravelled driveway hosting one car welcomes you on arrival as you unload your luggage and climb the stone stairs up to the front door which opens into the characterful sitting room with striking exposed beams and a stone fireplace with a warming woodburning stove, perfect for curling up on the sofa with your loved ones and enjoying a film on the Smart TV, with use from the Blu-ray player.

Host a fun dinner party for you and your group with help from the contemporary facilities in the kitchen/diner, and toast to a relaxing holiday ahead, before loading the dishes into the dishwasher and heading up the stairs to retreat to one of the inviting bedrooms.

The first floor is home to the bathroom which features a freestanding bath, and the first bedroom, which has attractive rural views and contains a double bed, with the second bedroom accessed by a steep staircase, into the eaves of the property, contains twin beds which are perfect for children and are zip/link so they can be changed to a king-size bed on request.

In the morning, sip on your coffee in the lovely, peaceful patio area, which contains an outdoor table set and a barbecue to make use of in the summer months.

Get better acquainted with your surroundings by venturing out to discover the beautiful countryside of the Cotswolds, with the centre of Naunton right on your doorstep and the River Windrush flowing through the village which is set in a ‘bowl’ within the scenic Cotswold hills, it’s the perfect place for exploring. The Black Horse Inn is just 0.3 miles from your doorstep where you can enjoy the pleasant ambience and home-made, locally sourced food and drinks.

A short car ride will put you in Bourton-on-the-Water, which is often referred to as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ due to the low arched bridges that cross over the River Windrush, an array of shops and attractions can be found here such as Cotswold Motoring Museum & Toy Collection and The Model Village which is a mini replica of the village itself, and Greystones Farm & Nature Reserve which is home to wildflower meadows and a working organic farm; offering time out from the hustle and bustle of the village centre.

Visit the historical market town of Stow-on-the-Wold where you can stroll around the market square and discover the town stock which dates back to the 15th century and is shaded by a majestic Elm Tree and then head over to St Edward’s Parish Church where you will find the enchanting looking tree surrounded doorway and finally, finish off with refreshing tipple at The Stag at Stow.

Cheltenham is just under a 30-minute drive from Dove Cottage and has a wealth of activities; if you’re into a spot of shopping The Promenade is the place to be as it has been named as one of the top five best shopping streets in Britain! For some beautiful scenery, be sure to visit Pittville Park which is the city's largest ornamental park that includes playgrounds, a boating lake and an aviary.

For a well-earned relaxing break in the Cotswolds, choose Dove Cottage.

Naunton is positioned on either sides of the River Windrush, making it very picturesque as any of its neighbours in the hills between Stow and Cheltenham. Mentioned in the Doomsday Book as Niwetone.
