Heage and Nether Heage are the two halves of this dispersed village, both of which include rustic homes and winding pathways but none of which has a centre. The word 'Heage' is Anglo-Saxon and means majestic or high, which is appropriate given the steep setting and lush vegetation. The hosts were very warm and welcoming which put us at ease straight away. The area itself was wonderful and we found things to do, every day. The accommodation was very well kept, it was extremely clean and tidy and well maintained. We will definitely be returning for another holiday there.
