This is a wonderful detached barn conversion, one of two holiday properties on the owners' own working livestock farm, settled in the heart of rural Derbyshire, two miles from Alderwasley. Beautifully converted, this Derbyshire cottage is the perfect place for couples, friends or families to enjoy one of the most picturesque parts of the Peak District. With open brickwork and beams plus a lovely woodburner, this Alderwasley cottage brims with traditional farmhouse charm. There are two lovely bedrooms, one set on the ground floor alongside a wet room, and both convertible on request, with the option to create either twin or super king-size bedrooms. With a sociable open plan living area, complete with a warming woodburner, this Peak District cottage is a calming place to return to after an eventful day of exploration. On warm evenings you can settle in the pretty garden, ideal for taking advantage of sunny Peak District evenings. Alderwasley is an outdoor-enthusiasts delight, with paths from the doorstep, and the Peak District National Park just a short drive away. A visit to the quaint market town of Wirksworth rewards visitors with lovely pubs, superb restaurants and many interesting shops and boutiques. Matlock is nearby, with its many attractions to suit all ages, including the Matlock Farm Park, Gulliver's Kingdom, and the unique Heights of Abraham from where you enjoy an elevated display of Derbyshires green horizon. Alderwasley is a scattered area of farms and a couple of local pubs located in lovely rolling countryside with undisturbed views for miles, on the southern borders of the Peak District National Park.

We enjoyed it so much we could have stayed longer! It's cosy, comfortable and ideal for someone with mobility issues like myself. The owners were very welcoming and left nice touches for our stay like wine, flowers and milk.
