Matlock is 2 miles away, popular for its warm springs, it provides eateries, shops, a museum. Leys Hall Park provides a setting for bowls, mini golf, tennis, boating and a play area. Enjoy a day at Gulliver's Kingdom with its owl maze, water gardens, nature trails, exhilarating rides and cable car trips over the Matlock Gorge. The High Peak Cycle Trail provides a wonderful experience, whilst Bakewell, Chatsworth House and Park and Haddon Hall are within reach.

The cottage is on a working farm, so there are interesting things to see across the fields, and lovely, friendly, well behaved labradors if you wanted to interact. It was also very peaceful, the working farm aspects were not noisy or "in your face" at all. We had a very enjoyable holiday, thank you.
