The area is valued for the stunning countryside that surrounds it. Ashover itself is home to three village pubs, all serving good food, and one winning an award from camra, it is even rumoured to be home to a couple of ghosts. The Ashover Audio Trail can be downloaded and followed around the village bringing it to life, and the popular Ashover Show takes place every August.
Further afield, the Peak District National Park and surrounding area holds a whole host of attractions and places to visit, including Matlock, Matlock Bath and the superb cable car ride to the Heights of Abraham, all are just 15 minutes away.
