The Manor House in Ashbourne is a well-received holiday rental with guests praising its character, spaciousness, and well-equipped kitchen. The property's large garden and proximity to a local pub are frequently appreciated. While some guests mention issues with maintenance and comfort, the overall sentiment is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
Most guests find The Manor House clean, with fresh bedding and well-maintained grounds. However, a few mention dust and cobwebs in less-frequented areas, suggesting room for improvement in thoroughness.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, proximity to amenities, and a welcoming pub across the road. The beautiful countryside setting is a highlight for many visitors.
Guests love the comfy beds and spacious rooms, but some find the sofas low and the top floor can get quite hot. The uneven floors and limited bathroom facilities for larger groups are noted as areas that could be enhanced.
The property is celebrated for its well-stocked kitchen and beautiful grounds. However, points are deducted for maintenance issues like a broken hob, leaky windows during a storm, and a lack of air conditioning in some rooms.
Guests appreciate the welcome basket and the provision of items such as milk and dog treats. While these gestures are well-received, it is important to note that such gifts are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Worked out perfectly. Lots of space with 2 living rooms. Kitchen and bathrooms are all of a high standard and kitchen was impressively stocked with plenty of crockery, cooking equipment and space to cook and entertain. Outside space was fab. Spent a whole day playing garden games and sitting in the sunshine catching up. Lovely walks from here to. Great communication with host. Brilliant pub directly opposite serving best Sunday roast ever ! Only things for improvement is tv lounge would really benefit from a new sofa / no mirrors in some of the bedrooms and mattress in one bedroom Could do with being replaced. We all live in modern houses so It was lovely to spend a week In such an old house with its quirks and uneven floors. Would definitely return and glad to see the owner investing in the property but keeping it true to its heritage.

Was extremely hot and stuffy as summer time, and very few windows opened to allow fresh air. There were fans, but they just blew the hot air about. This meant it felt very musty and we left a night early as we could not sleep very well due to the heat and lack of fresh air in the house. Such a shame, as otherwise it was an amazing place to stay, very grand and with well equipped kitched. If windows could be opened it would have been perfect.
