About this property

Bijou, contemporary and cosy, this clever semi-detached conversion is a short stroll from the lovely little town of Wirksworth, on the edge of the Peak District in Derbyshire. The owners of The Sidings, who live next door, have created a charming retreat, with great attention to detail and lots of thoughtful touches throughout. There is a sociable open plan living space with a kitchen and a sitting area with sofa.. An open staircase leads to the first floor double bedroom and en-suite shower room. The idyllic window seat is a lovely place to while away the time, gazing out to the Gilkin Hills. The Sidings sits by the heritage railway, with the occasional steam train tootling by, adding to the atmosphere without being intrusive. A modern, cosy property, well maintained and with everything that we needed. The log burner was great on a couple of cold damp evenings! Would recommend for a couple.

  • Sarah

Had everything needed and in a nice quiet location but handy for walking to amenities etc. The only thing I would have liked for myself is a slightly brighter reading light above the bed.

    Great location for getting around
