Guests say

Pheasant Cottage is a well-liked property in a picturesque village close to Rutland, appreciated for its cleanliness, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen. The local pub and amenities add to the charm, and the garden, while needing attention, is enjoyed by guests and their pets. Some concerns over space and maintenance issues are noted, but overall, guests have had pleasant stays and some would happily return.

The property is generally found to be lovely and clean, although some guests have reported issues with dust, cobwebs, and dampness in storage areas. The majority of feedback, however, suggests a satisfactory level of cleanliness.

The cottage is situated in a beautiful village, with proximity to Rutland water and local attractions. The location is highly praised for its convenience and the welcoming nature of the local community.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the central heating welcoming, but some have issues with the size of the double bedrooms and accessibility around the beds. The garden's unevenness is a concern for older guests.

The property boasts a well-equipped kitchen and good central heating, but several guests have reported broken or missing items, such as toilet seats and lights, and a lack of drying space for wet clothing. Maintenance issues are a recurring theme.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the property owner towards the guests, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

We had to wash all kitchen tops, dishes, glassware ,crockery ,cutlery that we used as it was greasy and bits of food stuck on. The mattresses were old and should have been replaced over a year ago, no pillow protectors, the pillows were so thin and uncomfortable. Where we had to hang our clothes smelt damp and was not clean, so we lived out of our suitcase. Down stairs bathroom plugs in the wash basin and bath broken. I tried to use the grill but had to abandon it as it had so much fat stuck on it filled the kitchen full of smoke and set the smoke alarm off. we paid quite a lot of money expecting a good quality cottage, but we were very disappointed and had we not been in Rutland for a special and emotional gathering to celebrate the amazing life of my brother who recently passed away we would have gone home. The only good thing I can say is that the heating was good . The down stairs bedroom was classed as a double, the mattress was jammed between the walls with no access to the far side of the bed other than climbing .All the beds had poor quality linen and in appropriate duvets for the time of year , better suited to the cold winter rather than Rutland. Please feel free to ring me to discuss our time in pheasant cottage
