No expense has been spared with the interior design and décor at Highside. A lot of careful thought has gone into delivering a memorable guest experience. Each room has been lovingly restored and finished to a high spec. Many of the original features of this Grade II listed farmhouse, dating back to the 1700s, are still prominent today including the large sash windows, the original stone steps and fireplaces, the beamed ceilings and thick stone walls, yet the element of contemporary luxury is evident throughout the property and there is even an artistic twist as you walk through, admiring the artwork. Highside can sleep up to ten guests in five spacious and luxurious bedrooms including a comfortable twin bedded room. All bedrooms have plenty of storage and hanging space for your belongings as well as high quality furniture throughout. One of the most striking features is the size of some of the bathrooms, you’ll love the amount of free space and the walk-in showers, freestanding baths and overall quality of fixtures and fittings. The kitchen is full of the latest modern appliances with a central island and wine cooler; next door is a beautiful traditional dining room to accommodate the most regal of banquets. If you feel you’ve eaten too much, you can retire to the snug for a little snooze. The real design feature and heart of this house is a simply stunning living room created from a converted barn with original beams and floor to ceiling windows. At one end is a modern wood burner which makes the perfect focal point for a few glasses of wine after dinner, and at the other end, a galleried library and piano. This makes Highside the ultimate venue for a special celebration or family gathering with the roaring wood burner and a sing song around the piano, it’s sure to make memories that will last a lifetime. Outside you’ll find ample parking, a large sunny patio complete with garden furniture for a breath of fresh countryside air, and of course, more amazing views.
