Why not step out into the enclosed garden where you can delight in a tipple as the sun sets over the mountains? When the evening draws to a close, retreat to one of three bedrooms including a double, second-floor double and a second-floor bunk to rest your head in before initiating your Cumbrian itinerary. Begin your day with a refreshing shower or relaxing soak in the bath before heading to Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum where you can tour the Victorian industrial site or visit Castlerigg Stone Circle close by. Discover Keswick Museum, Derwent Pencil Museum and Puzzling Place where you can enjoy an array of optical illusions and artwork exhibitions; try your hand at a variety of watersports at Derwentwater or venture to Surprise View and Lodore Falls where you can bask in stunning lake views and unspoiled landscapes. You are also well-positioned her to travel to Ullswater where Aira Force Waterfall resides, or the popular spot of Windermere, showcasing Wray Castle, Holehird Gardens and Hill Top, the former home of famed children’s author Beatrix Potter. The tourist hub of the northern Lake District is the well-known town of Keswick, which has a lot to offer travellers at any time of year. The town offers a wide variety of stores and eateries to suit every taste, as well as miniature golf, wonderful parks, the renowned Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing, and fantastic mountain biking opportunities. Derwentwater, a beautiful lake at the head of the breathtaking Borrowdale Valley, is only a short stroll from the town centre. The stunning Newlands Valley is nearby, situated between Braithwaite and Buttermere, and the charming Bassenthwaite Lake is definitely worth a visit. Everything from a leisurely stroll through the countryside to a strenuous walk up Skiddaw or the renowned Catbells is available. Visit the Jennings Brewery, Mirehouse, a magnificent home and gardens on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, or go on a wonderful boat tour of Derwentwater. Any time of year, this is a terrific Lakeland visit because to the abundance of family-friendly attractions, beautiful parks, and the neighbouring Lake District Wildlife Park.
