Resting in an ideal location just on the outskirts of Keswick town centre but within walking distance of all amenities is this beautifully renovated property, Willow Green. The cottage sits in an enviable south facing position with breath-taking panoramic views of the Borrowdale and Newlands Valleys, making this an excellent base for families or two couples seeking an action-packed adventure in the Lake District. After an exhilarating morning stroll along the clear waters of Derwentwater, return to the warmth of this cottage, leaving your mud-splattered wellies to dry out in the porch. Spend your evenings in front of the TV as you snuggle close to your loved ones and keep nice and toasty from the heat of the attractive woodburning stove. Prepare a sumptuous feast in the stylish kitchen, equipped with cream shaker style units with contemporary décor and flooring, while across the hallway is an elegant dining area where home-cooked meals can be served. Retreat to either the super king-size bedroom or king-size bedroom when retiring in the evening, both of which have been carefully styled with elegant décor and furnishings, as well as enjoying panoramic views of the fells. There are two bathrooms, one shower room with an oversized shower and a second bathroom with a double-ended bath, so you can enjoy a soothing soak after a day of rambling the countryside. Head outside and relish in the south facing patio on a sunny day, ideal for lunch with a cold drink whilst taking in the panoramic fell views of Barrowdale and Newlands Valley. There are fine walks from the door including the high tops of the Skiddaw range and a good ramble takes you to the summit of Latrigg. The cottage is a short walk away from the local amenities of Keswick, including restaurants, pubs and local shops as well as attractions such as the Cumberland Pencil Museum, lakeside walks around Derwentwater, with jetties where you can take a boat tour or hire a rowing boat. Exploration further afield will bring you to the towns of Grasmere, with its Gingerbread shop, Ambleside with its range of arts, crafts and jewellery shops, and Bowness-on-Windermere with the wonderful World of Beatrix Potter Attraction. Willow Green is the ideal location for exploring one of the most picturesque corners of the Lake District.
The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
