Situated in the hamlet of Dubwath, at the north end of Bassenthwaite Lake, lies this alluring holiday property, a delightful apartment for four on the ground floor of a lovely Georgian terraced house. Ideally placed to make the most of all the northern Lake District has to offer, this easily accessible spot has wonderful views over Sale Fell to the front and an ideal little patio to the rear where you can enjoy a peaceful glass of wine or two on the lovely Cumbrian Slate bench. Alternatively you can light the wood burner and settle in for a cosy evening while planning your Lake District adventures.
This well-equipped apartment is the ideal jumping off point for a number of activities. If walking is of interest then there are a host of opportunities from the mighty peak of Skiddaw, England’s fourth highest mountain, to Sale Fell of which you have a beautiful view from the dining area of the apartment. If something gentler is to your taste you could enjoy a stately turn around the grounds of nearby Mirehouse, a beautiful historic house with literary connections whose gardens stretch from Dodd Wood to Bassenthwaite Lake. Bassenthwaite has become famous in recent years for their successful osprey programme. It has resulted in the first pair of wild ospreys to breed in the Lake District for over 150 years, you might be lucky enough to see one of these majestic birds while out and about around the apartment.
The property is situated almost equidistant between Keswick and Cockermouth, two of the Lake District’s loveliest towns. Keswick has so much to offer from museums and sight-seeing to adventure centres, festivals and theatre. The shores of Derwentwater lake are just five minutes walk from the centre of Keswick and you'll find a host of places to eat, drink and shop in the town. Cockermouth has a thriving art and folk music scene, excellent places to eat and drink and an array of independent shops. Wherever you go in Cockermouth, the community spirit is strong and the welcome is warm. In short the property is perfectly placed to enjoy all the delights of the northern Lake District.
