A traditional 18th-century Cumbrian cottage, retaining many original features with beautiful panoramic views.. Ground Floor:
The cottage retains many original features. It is beautifully furnished and very well equipped, with oil fired central heating and comprises:
Lounge: With log burning stove, 32" Smart TV, DVD player and open views.
Dining room: With beamed ceiling and open views.
Kitchen: The kitchen has an electric cooker with a double oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and Bluetooth DAB radio.
Utility/drying room: With washer/dryer and space for boots and coats.
Cloakroom: With toilet.. First Floor:
Bedroom 1: with king size bed, views and en-suite with shower cubicle and toilet.
Bedroom 2: with twin beds and views.
Bedroom 3: with full size adult bunk beds.
Bathroom: With bath, shower cubicle, toilet and hand basin.. Logs for the wood burning stove, oil and electricity are included. Bed linen and towels are provided. Wi-Fi. Cot, highchair and stairgate available. Doggy extras.. To the front of the cottage there is an enclosed terraced garden with patio area, garden furniture and a BBQ. Enjoy the views and watch out for the red squirrels and a vast variety of bird life which are attracted to the bird feeder. To the rear is an area to keep bikes - with a locking point. Parking for 2 cars (shared driveway). Two well behaved pets welcome.

A traditional 18th-century Cumbrian cottage with beautiful panoramic views, located in the small picturesque village of Helton. A perfect place to get away from it all, with tranquil surroundings in this little known area of the Lake District. There are wonderful walks right from the cottage. Close by are Ullswater and Haweswater, and excellent high level walking. Other nearby attractions and activities include the Lowther Castle and Gardens, Askham Hall Gardens and café, Dalemain historic house, Lakeland Bird of Prey Centre, Ullswater steamers, Hallin Fell, Aira Force waterfall, horse riding, mountain biking, climbing, fishing, sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. There are two delightful pubs and a village shop, a mile away, in the neighbouring village of Askham. The attractive market town of Penrith is just 10 minutes drive away. Enjoy the views and watch out for the red squirrels!
