This cosy mid-terrace, Grade II listed cottage is located in one of the oldest parts of Ambleside and is ideally situated for enjoying all the wonderful facilities and landscape which makes Ambleside the gemstone in the Lake District’s crown. Perfectly-presented with cosy furnishings amid charming beams makes this an excellent base for friends and family wishing to explore this captivating corner of the Lakes. As soon as you step inside you will feel the warmth of this welcoming cottage which has a sitting room with gas fire to relax in front of after a day exploring. There is a well-equipped kitchen, two bedrooms and a shower room to make this suitable for a great holiday. Outside there is an enclosed garden with patio area with views over Ambleside to Loughrigg. Ambleside is a haven for walkers with routes leading directly out of the town to Loughrigg, Wansfell and the Fairfield Horseshoe. For a perfect day why not head out over Loughrigg to Grasmere stopping off at The Grasmere Gingerbread Shop for supplies? Ambleside has something for everyone with a selection of independent shops, pubs and restaurants plus a fantastic cinema with three screens. The Apple Pie Bakery is a great place to pop by for delicious cakes and pastries. Just yards away from this charming holiday home is Whiteplatts Park which has tennis courts, pitch and putt, crazy golf and bowls. At the end of the day, you can return to this fabulous cottage and enjoy a quiet drink on the patio before heading out to one of the superb inns or restaurants to chat about your day. An excellent cottage for enjoying the magic of the Lake District all year round.
Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century Bridge House - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District.
