The Boathouse sits within the Pullwood Bay Estate, an enchanting fifty acres of wooded grounds on the north-western shore of Lake Windermere and was originally used by the owners of Pullwood House. The estate boasts, impressive landscaped gardens, half a mile of lakeshore, a shingle beach and private jetty from which guests can launch dinghys and kayaks.
As you enter the long sweeping driveway look out for the deer and catch glimpses of the peaceful lake inlet before finding the magnificent Elizabethan styled house laid out before you, look to the right and you will see your captivating boathouse nestled on the lake.
Admire the superb period door, before entering the Boathouse at ground level to see the lake gently, lapping under your holiday home, there might even be a swan taking shelter as you arrive. Walk upstairs to the first floor and you are sure to be drawn to the full width glass doors overlooking the lake. Step onto your balcony and look out at the shimmering lake and gorgeous Lakeland fells, pause here for a while to take in this magnificent timeless view. If you can, drag yourself back inside, to discover your bright and beautiful open plan living plan living area, full of magical light. Admire your sumptuous leather suite and pretty, soft furnishings then look over to your contemporary dining table and stylish kitchen area and start to image romantic evenings in this delightful space. On this level you will find a bright and cheerful twin or king size bedroom with en-suite shower room. Climb the modern, glass and steel staircase to discover your beautiful feature bedroom with super king bed with its own stunning lake views. At the end of your exciting day, why not pull the balcony doors wide open and sit with a favourite drink to watch the lake changing colour under the setting sun. But don’t forget to get up early, to try and to catch the otters playing under your balcony.
Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
