High Borrans Hazel is a beautiful one bedroom holiday lodge for two at High Borrans Farm near Windermere. The lodge enjoys pretty south facing views from its spacious deck, somewhere to lounge with a coffee and a book, or just try out your photography skills. Hazel is tastefully furnished with lovely fixtures and fittings, giving a modern yet cosy log cabin feel. Hazel will sleep two guests and is ideal for couples looking for a quiet retreat as this is an adults only location. From the moment you leave the main road and head towards High Borrans you will sense the peace and tranquillity of the area. Driving down the country lane you arrive at the traditional working farmyard and on through to the lodges. High Borrans Farm is a 1000-acre hill farm, with a flock of some 1200 Swaledale ewes and around 25 beef suckler cows. The land rises to 1300 feet on heather-clad fell tops and the farm is a wonderful environment for nature lovers. The farmland is an Environmentally Sensitive Area and parts are also designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. On the nearby fells you are likely to glimpse red and roe deer, and closer to the farm, there are tawny and barn owls, and many varieties of bats living in the old barns. For adventure lovers a number of popular mountain bike routes run through the farmyard itself. This is a quiet farm with no onsite facilities other than laundry and e-bike hire. High Borrans Hazel promises an idyllic peaceful location in which to make great memories together.
The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.
