The Old Man of Coniston offers a stunning backdrop to the village, and there are many walking routes from the apartment leading to Tarn Hows, Tilberthwaite and the charming village of Hawkshead, which has some interesting shops and is home to the Beatrix Potter Gallery. For water sports enthusiasts the quiet lake is ideal for dinghy sailing and canoeing, whilst the less active can enjoy a leisure cruise on the beautiful steam yacht 'Gondola'.
