Guests have praised 2 Beacon High for its homely feel, comfortable amenities, and beautiful garden. The property is well-regarded for its peaceful location and as a base for exploring the Lake District. While some minor maintenance issues were noted, the overall experience was very positive, with special appreciation for the owners' prompt assistance and thoughtful touches.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and comfortable. However, a few guests mentioned the need for better cleaning of kitchen utensils and worktops, and one noted mould in the shower room, slightly affecting the score.
The location is highly praised for its quietness and proximity to local attractions and the Lake District. Some guests mentioned minor issues with signposting and mobile signal, but these did not detract significantly from the overall positive feedback.
Guests generally found the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Some guests had personal preferences regarding bed firmness and light in the rooms, but these were not widespread concerns.
Facilities were well-received with a few maintenance suggestions such as extractor fans in bathrooms, better kitchen equipment, and more consistent WiFi. The presence of an open fire and garden were positives, but the need for updates in some areas was noted.
While guests appreciated the prompt assistance from the owners and the welcoming atmosphere, there were no specific mentions of gifts, hence the score cannot be determined.
A truly delightful property! This charming semi-detached cottage nestles in a quiet position in the traditional south Lakeland village of Lindale, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, 3 miles from Grange-over-Sands. The cottage seamlessly combines original features and little 'nooks and crannies' with modern comforts, to provide comfortable, bright and airy accommodation. Outside there's a beautiful cottage garden and patio, ideal for warm summer evenings. It's a great location too - the coast is nearby and Lake Windermere is just a short drive away. With lovely views and many walks from the doorstep this is an idyllic retreat to be enjoyed throughout the year!
Situated in the southern Lake District and just a few short miles from the coastal estuary and the seaside town of Grange-over-Sands is the small village of Lindale. With a true 'Lakeland feel', due to its narrow streets, traditional dwellings and a quaint old pub, this charming village is positioned on the slopes of Hampsfield Fell. The coastal resorts of Arnside and Grange are worth a visit, whilst the pretty town of Cartmel - with its famous annual horse race meetings - offers plenty to see. Lake Windermere and the villages of Bowness-on-Windermere and Hawkshead are only a short drive away and still retain the charm and character that has endeared them to so many visitors. The fabulous countryside which surrounds Lindale also provides exceptional walking and cycling opportunities.

A knife sharpener would be good, and a clothes horse, but beds were comfortable, the bath was lovely and all in was a nice stay.

The bedrooms are spacious, but our children found the single beds less comfortable (hard matrasses). The kitchen is well equipped and there are two bathrooms. The shower downstairs is, however, on the small side and water temperatures were harder to regulate.

We put a tray under it and caught water We reported it to Sykes but they wanted me to download their app, which I was unhappy with as they wish to share my financial details. I am unhappy with this. Else it was very hard to get hold of them. But I tried. I hope your house is ok. Other than that we had a lovely stay at your house. Garden is lovely. It would be helpful to provide guests with salt pepper and oil (as it is hard to transport open). Bed linen was lovely. If you are visiting you might like to take your own bath mat. If you have anyone with mobility issues there are a couple of big steps on the garden path.
