White House is a characterful cottage praised for its charm, idyllic garden, and peaceful surroundings. Guests appreciate its cosy atmosphere, access to nature, and suitability for dog owners. While some minor maintenance issues and cleanliness concerns were noted, the property's overall appeal and prime location for exploring the Lakes are highly valued.
Cleanliness received mixed reviews. Some guests found the cottage to be tidy, while others noted issues with cobwebs and a lingering smoke smell from previous tenants. The property may benefit from more thorough cleaning between stays.

Guests find the cottage comfortable and cosy, with a warm atmosphere and secure garden for dogs. However, some mentioned that the main bed was creaky, which could affect comfort for light sleepers.

This tiny community is made up of a row of houses from the 18th century, as well as a swimming pool, bars, stores, a Post Office, and a beautiful memorial park. Not sunny enough for the summer house but can imagine how lovely it is to sit out there My dog and I really enjoyed our stay. No fireworks in Keld which was perfect for us. We came away to get away from the fireworks which are terrible where we live. We heard a few but probably in Shap. Sorry I didn't strip the bedding, i have only just read those instructions. I will certainly recommend to friends and may visit again.

Open moors on your doorstep . A truly lovely location . If you are looking for reliable high speed wifi and tv connection then this could be an issue. It wasn't for us.

Whilst the garden was very pretty, the grass was extremely long which made it difficult to enjoy, and possibly contributed to us being heavily bitten whilst there, very unusual for us (and we live in the countryside normally). There were no instructions for the property such as for bins etc, or how to use anything. There were leaflets for days out, but some very âlocalâ information would also be helpful, such as walking to Shap village too. The property was clean and tidy, and we understand in an old property there would creaky floorboards etc but the main bed in particular was very creaky which Iâm sure could be improved. It would also have been helpful to have been prepared for the exceptionally narrow road to the village, as whilst we are familiar with country roads, this is particularly narrow for a small portion.
