This charming bungalow is in a secluded setting at the end of a private close in Lakeside at the tip of Lake Windermere. The accommodation is spacious & modern. Private parking for 1 (possibly 2) cars. Front entrance lobby leading to a spacious inner hall. The living room is large and airy with leather sofas, wood burning stove and patio doors leading out to the furnished balcony. From your family-sized dining kitchen, spread out into the furnished conservatory and lovely little patio garden. 3 good-sized bedrooms; 1 king size, 1 double and 1 twin. House bathroom with shower over bath and separate WC. Surrounded by walks and a network of peaceful lanes, Nutwood is also just a 10-minute stroll to Lakeside Pier for cruises to Windermere and Ambleside, The Lakes Aquarium, the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Steam Railway and the Lakeside Hotel for amazing food & drink. Lakeside is renowned as a peaceful Lake District holiday destination, nestled around the southern tip of Lake Windermere and away from the hustle and bustle of the busier areas. But despite this, you'll find a wealth of things to see and do within easy reach - whatever your holiday tastes.
Windermere Lake Cruises depart from Lakeside Pier, and cruise the full length of Lake Windermere to Bowness and Ambleside - a wonderfully stress-free way to explore. You'll find plenty of walking routes in the area; including Alfred Wainwright's Finsthwaite Heights route from Newby Bridge (adjacent to Lakeside) and up to High Dam for more lovely walks & perhaps a wild swim. There was plenty of space for all of us. Bungalow had a retro feel, the conservatory was a welcome addition for another sitting area. Garden very secure for our dog, although on many levels which some may struggle with. We had read previous comments re parking . We managed to get 2 cars in the drive comfortably, an ionic 5 and a Renault Modus. It was clear that the owner of the road would not allow any parking not on the drive, and indeed they objected to the bins being left on their property on bin day and moved them off the road. Having said that the cul de sac was quiet, hardly saw any neighbours and they were very polite in their note asking us not to put the bin other than on the bungalow land. ( everyone else on the road had cars parked on the kerbside and had their bins out all week) . Overall a most relaxing and enjoyable stay. We would suggest a bigger shower head as the one there currently is a bit on the small size and a larger head would make better use of the excellent water pressure and abundant hot water. Thank you.

The accommodation smelt a bit damp in some places and was a little dated although it looked as if a few trees had been cut down and the garden tidied up which will benefit in the long term. Overall it was fine for us and the parking was fine for 2 - 3 cars, no issues from the neighbours.

The property is in a great location and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bins and parking a little bit of an issue but didn't spoil the holiday. We did have a note put on the car when we arrived advising if we continued to park o the kerbside we would be expected to pay £10 an hour.
